may i know the reason why? i didnt get any warning about why my post got removed.
Hello. As far as i can see, your post "Is mod engine safe to use?" was edited/deleted by @Alexandru_BD, the admin of this forum. Please, wait for his explanation and/or further action. Thanks.
@Gjoksi hi there
thanks for the answer. still waiting on it. i need to make sure if i didnt violate any rules. but i will probably need some clear explanation about post deletion and which section/place should i ask about certain program. thanks.
Hi @Akko
Sorry I thought it was a duplicate for this one:

Hello again. I read your post, and personally i think that you didn't violate any rule(s). Also, i think that the thread should be posted in "Security Research Team" category. Anyway, as i already mentioned, wait for a reply and/or action from @Alexandru_BD. Cheers.
Don't worry about it, you did nothing wrong, but the post was almost identical to the one above, so I assumed it was a duplicate posted by mistake and I have removed it.
hello again @Alexandru_BD
its not a problem. but should i make another post or do you think its good to discuss it here? i dont know if theres post history there, but my question is still remain the same about if mod engine is safe to use. if any of bitdefender staff have investigated that program
not to confuse with cheat engine, mod engine is another program that collaboration with cheat engine. It's a CheatEngine reskin, with a private online library.
generally, some of cheat engine table maker sometimes recommended to install that program to access full feature than cheat engine offers. but since i havent heard that name widely and some people claims they have downloaded virus/malware from mod engine, i want to know deep further if that program is still considered safe despite they dont have source code or github page to see the project. i dont have any dare to download nor even running it until BitDefender team consider this program is safe.
i cant make it sure if CE is collaborating with ME, maybe they would pay CE to advertise ME just like what CE installer did? who knows.
thats all from me.
hello.
trying to bump this thread again if theres any result about mod engine.
Any tool that modifies the original behavior of software (like Cheat Engine or Mod Engine) can raise legal and security concerns. Even if they’re used for harmless tweaks or mods, they often violate software terms (EULA) and might trigger anti-cheat systems or copyright issues.
Security apps like Bitdefender and other flag them as PUP/PUA because they work similarly to malware—injecting code, bypassing protections, and sometimes exposing systems to real threats. So while they aren’t always "malicious," they do carry risks like bans, legal trouble, or even malware infections if downloaded from shady sources.
Currently, Bitdefender detects Cheat Engine as a PUP/PUA. Later on, it will likely detect Mod Engine as a PUP/PUA as well.
More information on PUP/PUA can be found in the link provided below.

hello @Alexandru_BD thanks for your information. so i can assume mod engine is safe to use as i can tell that bd teams had been investigated it. as per what ive mentioned above, i havent heard about mod engine too much, but some of trainer maker often recommended it to unlock further trainer and CE itself promoted it through the program. since i couldnt find much relevant information about the safetyness of the mod engine itself considering the program is closed source and i couldnt find any documentation about it, it carries my concern whether i should use it or not. i generally dont really trust closed source project without documentation. i may not that tech savvy but atleast i could understand a bit about avoiding installing program that has low reputation on internet. have a good day.
The mod engine file has been submitted to the Bitdefender malware researchers for investigation
If the file is found to be malicious or PUP/PUA, detection will be added within a maximum of 72 hours. However, if no detection is created after 72 hours, the file will be considered safe, as determined by Bitdefender malware researchers.
Hello
Thanks for the headsup. Will be looking forward.
Although if the detections are similar like CE that appears to be PUA/PUP, i would still take it as safe.
However, if it appears to be an actual malware inside of it, i will not gonna install it.
Regard.
