Dangerous page blocked for your protection

Please can somebody help? I just installed Bitdefender and now every time I try to search for anything in Chrome, I get this message:

Dangerous page blocked for your protection

Even just trying to access Google Maps. A strange address comes up in my search bar at the top, with begins with

https://searchpuppiesnt.com/dynamiclander

I have no idea what is going on. It's really annoying I can't now use my search bar and I'm about to uninstall Bitdefender. Or has my computer been infected with something? I don't know. I'm 67, so not too up to date on these things. I just want to use my computer! How can I get rid of these messages and also stay safe?

Kindly follow the steps below

1) Open the Run command and execute the following commands one by one:

temp – delete all the files in the folder.

%temp% – delete all the files in the folder.

prefetch – delete all the files in the folder.

To me, it sounds like a browser hijacker. Context: browser hijacking is a form of unwanted software that modifies a web browser's settings without your permission, to inject unwanted advertising into the browser, or dubious redirects. The majority of hijackers come in the form of toolbars that are bundled with free software and served in third-party sites. At times, they arrive on systems via embedded code within the visited site, pop-up or pop-under ad windows, or even via malware as part of its payload. On rare occasions, they come as legitimate programs.

Uninstalling Bitdefender will not solve the issue, because It's not the antivirus that's redirecting you to that url. You can follow the steps provided by Flexx earlier on this thread to reset Chrome, and make sure to check the article he shared as well, it will give you even more context and troubleshooting steps for these kind of situations, which are quite common these days.
