Subject: Feature Request – Import/Export User Configuration in Bitdefender Total Security

I would like to propose the implementation of an Import/Export functionality for user configurations within Bitdefender Total Security. This feature would be invaluable in situations involving system failure, migration, or repair, allowing users to efficiently restore their personalized settings without the need for manual reconfiguration.

Enabling users to save and load configuration profiles would not only enhance convenience and usability, but also improve recovery workflows and consistency across devices.

Hello and thanks for sharing this suggestion as well.

For the record, we received this proposal on several occasions here, but also on other channels in time. Now, I'm not sure where we are with this. In one of the most recent discussions about this feature, the product teams were considering to explore a proof of concept involving a major rearchitecturing of the software, to establish the feasibility and other aspects related to the possible implementation of such a function.. because I think this is something easier said than done, it would involve a lot of work and certainly many changes in the antivirus structure, to pull this off.

TIP: For restoring settings for a subsequent reinstall, select Reinstall and not Uninstall.

The “Reinstall not Uninstall” tip is noted and helpful for now, though an official import/export feature would truly elevate usability and recovery across systems. I’ll keep an eye on the forum for updates and would be happy to assist with feedback or testing if it supports further development.
