OK, I have Total Security Family Plan - did a chat with customer support to upgrade to Premium Security Family Plan. Was told to go ahead and buy the new one and then reallocate the devices and then turn off auto-renewal on the old plan.
Guess What - THAT DOESN"T WORK. Can't activate the new subscription as long as the old one is valid. Emails back and forth with 2nd level customer support and they keep getting the information wrong and answering the wrong question.
Oh and by the way, customer support HAS NO SUPERVISORS to talk with who might be able to do something.
So, apparently, I have to somehow deactivate the old plan, activate the new one and reallocate devices - which of course leaves my devices unprotected while I do that.
First it is absurd that I can't simply upgrade directly. But given that, I simply need to deactivate the old Total Security plan - BUT I can't reach anyone who can simply do that. I have spent hours at this point…
Look, BitDefender is a great product - but customer support in managing the account is HORRIBLE -what I am trying to do should have been absolutely trivial.
Anyway, IF anyone has any ideas how to get this solved, please respond. Thanks
