I have recently ran into various anomalous boot behavior on my Aorus x670 Elite AX Rev 1.2
After patching to the latest firmware, I noticed the following things might have tampered my Windows in ways I want to ask about:
- as soon as Windows 11 Enterprise (Secure Boot ON) finishes installing, the firmware asks me whether I want to install the Gigabyte Control Center through a pop-up toast in the bottom-right, which is an overlay
- even if installed manually through HTTP there is 2 services that persists called "Gigabyte Updater" and EZTuneService, the first of which can be disabled through a BIOS slider
My questions are for those whoa are expert:
- How does Gigabyte achieve this boot-time replacement of the .exe attached through the service? Don't I have Secure Boot on?
- Is this secure?
