Network Recognized is an Extender - No Recognition of the Home Router

Bitdefender's software asks if the extender is my home network. There's no option available to advise of the router. Where do I input the information for the router (home network) not the extender's name?

Bitdefender only sees the Wi‑Fi name (SSID) you’re connected to. If you’re connected through an extender, it shows the extender’s name, not the router. There’s no place to type in the router name.

To fix this, set your extender to use the same Wi‑Fi name as your router. Then Bitdefender will treat it as one home network.

1. Connect to the extender

   • Enter the extender’s IP address in your browser.
   • Log in with the username and password (often printed on the device or in its manual).
3. Find Wi‑Fi/SSID settings
   • Look for “Wireless Settings,” “SSID,” or “Network Name.”
4. Change SSID to match router
   • Type in the exact same Wi‑Fi name (SSID) as your router.
   • Also match the password and security type (e.g., WPA2).
5. Save and restart
   • Save the changes and reboot the extender.
   • Now both router and extender broadcast the same Wi‑Fi name.
6. Reconnect devices
   • Your phone, laptop, etc. will automatically connect to whichever signal (router or extender) is stronger, but Bitdefender will see it as one home network.
