gravityzone VA active policy direct overwrites.

Question

Hi!

Problem with policy assignment for one PC. It always goes back to default.

Problem:

1. one of pc show "Applicable policies": Default and Custom.

2. Active policy on this pc shows: Default policy, assignment Direct, type: devices.

Status

1. ad sync pc names and structure.

2. assigned custom policy to structure.

3. no assignment rules.

4. on-perm VA appliance. Around 4 years old.

Already tested and did not helped:

1. Uninstall bitdefender on client PC and then install back.

2. assigned direct custom policy - after some time it went back to default.

3.  forced "inherit from above"

Sounds like some task runs at interval and assigns direct policy…

This are resolved via support tickets:

Adding resource to VM helped.

Now have 8cpu/16ram like in spec. Was 4cpu/8ram.

2 days on morning pc gets CUSTOM policy as need not just Default.

I think it was lack of ram.

Can close.

1. A screenshot from Network → Select Endpoint with issues → Policy

This will give as a better understanding of your policy configuration and determine the root cause.
