How to get rid of McAfee fake infection pop-ups?

Very basic old Mac user so go easy with me. Got a pop up in the right hand corner annoying bleep every 20 seconds. McAfee critical, then action required. So I downloaded Bitdefender thinking it would detect it and remove it, but it didn't. Done a full scan no threats.
How do I stop these notifications driving me mad with the constant bleep??

Do you have mcafee installed as your antivirus and now also bitdefender? Best to use only one antivirus so best to uninstall the mcafee antivirus.

Can you post a screenshot of the pop-up message you get from mcafee?

Thanks for the reply, I have stopped the pop up. Don't really know how just blocked as much as I could in preferences.
