Hello,
I would like to report a reproducible FilterManager event related to the Bitdefender Virtual Disk on my Windows 11 system.
After installing Bitdefender Total Security, I consistently observe the following Windows system event:
Event ID: 3
Source: Microsoft-Windows-FilterManager
Device: \Device\Harddisk4\DR4
Final Status: 0xC03A001C
The event indicates that the Filter Manager failed to attach to the volume associated with the Bitdefender Virtual Disk.
Could you please clarify:
- Whether this behavior is expected under certain Windows 11 conditions, or
- If it indicates a known issue related to the Bitdefender Virtual Disk or its filter driver
If needed, I can provide additional logs or diagnostic information.
Thank you for your support.
Environment
- OS: Windows 11 Pro (Build 26200.8457)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- GPU: Radeon RX 7900 GRE
- Bitdefender Total Security(Build: 27.0.59.332)
- Storage: NVMe SSD (system drive)
- System usage: Standard desktop usage (no special disk configuration or virtualization setup)
Observed Behavior
- The Bitdefender Virtual Disk (approximately 32 MB) appears in Disk Management as expected.
- The FilterManager Event ID 3 is logged intermittently.
- The event typically appears after system startup.
- The event does not appear when Bitdefender is uninstalled, suggesting a direct relation to Bitdefender components.
Impact
- No visible impact on system stability.
- No crashes, freezes, or performance degradation observed.
- The system continues to function normally despite the logged event.
