I use the latest version of Omnissa ThinApp Enterprise 2603.0.0-279 ("ThinApp") together with Bitdefender Total Security on a fully updated installation of Windows 11 Pro (latest build and updates installed). To get ThinApp itself to run, I first have to manually create Advanced Threat Defense exclusions for multiple ThinApp executables, as Advanced Threat Defense does not support folder-based exclusions. In addition, every ThinApp-generated executable must also be manually excluded on an individual basis; otherwise, Bitdefender blocks the packaged application from running. This behaviour occurs consistently across all ThinApp packages I create, regardless of the application being virtualized. Given that the affected executables are either part of Omnissa ThinApp itself or are generated by ThinApp from trusted software sources, I believe these detections may represent false positives related to ThinApp's virtualization technology and behavioural characteristics. As it stands, the coexistence of ThinApp and Bitdefender Total Security is cumbersome in practice, requiring an ever-growing list of manual exclusions and significantly reducing the usability of both products. Could you please confirm whether this behaviour is expected and whether there is a recommended method for safely trusting Omnissa ThinApp and ThinApp-generated applications without having to manually exclude each executable one by one?
