Regarding BD app on phone - stopping constant noise during a scan

Another silly question from me….but one to which I would be most grateful for an answer.

I had to put General Topics as the category, above, because I could not see anything specifically phone app related in the options.

When I run a manual scan of my phone, it emits constant noise for the duration of the scan. Currently, I drop the volume to zero during scans to stop this intrusive noise as I cannot determine which notification category to disable to stop it….so am turning to you sage folk to seek direction. What action should I take to stop the noise during manual scan?

Does the noise come from the speakers of the phone or from the electronics?

I must say that's a first. Now, there's nothing mechanical during the scan, so it's not like some coolers you would hear on a PC while the CPU is working.. therefore I tend to believe that the sound is coming from the loudspeaker/speakers, but then again, the scan doesn't have a specific sound assigned to it..meaning that, there should be no noise whatsoever while scanning. Did you notice if the device heats up or anything like that? And was the device plugged in/charging while the noise happened? Curious thing this..

It could be coil whine that's making the noise.

I should apologise for my meaning evidently being unclear!!!! Very sorry….

By saying that, "….I cannot determine which notification category to disable to stop it….", I had hoped to convey that it is a notification noise indicating that the scan feature is in the process of running a scan.

It did not happen when I first joined BD and downloaded the app, but, in the process of deleting and reinstalling the app due to another issue, it then began making the notification sound during the process of scanning.

I realise that it probably requires a notification category to be deactivated, but cannot determine which.

I do hope that that delivers greater clarity and am very sorry for not making it more clear in the initial posting.

Thanks for your efforts on my behalf already and grateful if either of you would direct my actions to cease the scan in progress notification.

I understand. Mobile Security doesn't have any integrated sound alerts, so I'm thinking that what you are hearing comes from a component of the device, or its microphone/speaker for some reason.
I think it's difficult to know exactly what's causing this, without actually looking at the device and holding it. But I'm sure it shouldn't make any sounds during a scan..

Gosh….well, that is rather interesting. Strange.

I had assumed that the "scan-in-progress" alert was related to one of the seven notification categories within BD Security phone app. If not, then it is rather odd!

I shall simply have to continue to drop alert sound to zero when conducting manual scan.
