Changes to EPSecurityService.exe requiring active scan denylist changes?

Looking for more information regarding this situation:

Despite adding restrictions for a particular folder, intended to keep EPSecurityService.exe from acting on that folder and its subfolders, the activity is still detected by Process Monitor.

Related to this is the sudden need for these restrictions - The motive for adding this restriction into Bitdefender is a separate application which creates and expands ZIP files, is suddenly showing errors, and the cause was narrowed down to EPSecurityService.exe acting in the folder where the ZIP files are handled.

Any information or recent changes relevant to this situation would be appreciated, thank you.

Hello @johnlarsen ,

When you add an exclusion for a particular folder we continue to check it but we don't take actions on it, so you will see activity in Process Monitor regarding that folder.

In order to better understand what is the issue that you are facing please share:
1. Where did you add the exclusion?

2. Can you please disable the modules one by one in order to pinpoint which module is blocking the application

3. After you identify the module please collect a support tool log so we can review it with our support and further determine what actions we need to take to implement a solution.
