Hello, can't open a ticket from "Contact Us". Error atthached.
A few hours after updating Bitdefender to Product Version 8.26.10.671 and Engines Version 7.101686, Bitdefender blocked the application Primus.exe and raised the alert: Threat: Gen:Variant.Babar.742567.
We have an endpoint running Bitdefender Premium Security, which updated successfully and then, a few hours later, detected the same threat, blocking the execution of Primus.exe.
We use Primus on several endpoints, but the malware alert appeared only on these two machines. At the moment, Primus cannot be launched on either of them.
Primus is a critical application for our operations, so this issue is impacting our workflow.
I would like your support to determine whether this detection is a false positive caused by the latest antivirus definitions, or if there is a real security concern related to Primus.
The Primus.exe file detected as malware on the two endpoints is approximately 88 MB.
I scanned the same file from another endpoint, and it appears clean; the block occurs only when executing the file on the two affected machines.
On most other endpoints running GravityZone Business Security, updated to the latest version, Primus does not trigger any malware or spyware detection.
The Primus installation is identical across all machines; we use the same licensed version, with no variants.
Primus has not been updated recently: on one of the affected endpoints it was installed two weeks ago, while on the other it has been installed for years.
We have been using Bitdefender GravityZone Business and Bitdefender Premium Security for years, as well as Primus, and we have never experienced issues of this kind.
Have you received any reports regarding this detection?
Can we investigate further to determine whether this is a false positive or an actual threat?
Thank you.
