Gzserv Uses Up All Available Ram
Hi,
I've recently switched from avast to bitdefender free edition, and I really like its low cpu footprint.
However, its eating up ram - I'm guessing some sort of memory leak.
I'm using windows 7 64bit, all updates installed.
Bitdefender free version 1.0.21.1109
The resource monitor shows that gzserv.exe's Commit(KB) is getting bigger and bigger, last time I had to reboot after it reached 12gb.
Right now it is again growing slowly, at 730mb. Working set however is at just 75mb. I am not really sure what triggers it, since it seems to be steady for some time, then increasing again. For example, Commit was at 300mb prior to going to standby. After waking a few hours later it is now at 744mb.
I've tried to go into standby and wake up again, and it is again rising, but at a slow rate.
It does not seem to matter if I am logged into my bitdefender or not.
Disabling the antivirus completely seems to stop gzserv's ram growth.
Keeping virus shield on but disabling auto scan also seems to stop gzserv's ram growth.
The log shows that a deep swap cycle has been started.
I already tried to repair the installation through the deinstall routine, and rebooted.
EDIT: added log info

It took only 80 minutes since the start of this post for gzserv to increase to 4gb.

Please ensure the previous security solutions have been properly removed, this situation can occur if there are conflicting drivers on the same system.
Please provide me with a Support Tool log to further investigate.
