Bitdefender Free update failed -1011

From 21-07-2020 this error appears to me. I scanned the system with Malwarebytes and it did not detect anything, after which I reinstalled Bitdefeneder Free, but the error still persists. I contacted the technical support asking them if they have any problems with any server and they confirmed to me that the problem is not with them. The technical supporter directed me to this forum, claiming that it is the official one. At the moment I am using Windows 10 Enterpreise 32 bytes version 1909 with all the updates up to date. I want to mention that I have been using Bitdefender Free since 2017 and I had no problem with it. If there are other people who have encountered this error, please expose your problem, because it seems strange to me that a product that has worked flawlessly for 3 years has an error that apparently no one talks about (Error -1011).

  • I encountered the same problem for 2 days. I also contacted the technical support (I also have windows 10) and I did not receive any answer to fix this problem. I wonder if anyone knows how to solve it, because the product really worked flawlessly until.

    Hi Member,

    1) Kindly uninstall bitdefender free & bitdefender agent.

    2) Restart PC in safe mode (https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode)

    3) As soon as desktop opens, assuming your windows drive is C, open below things in run (windows icon + R) command one by one :

    C:\Program Files (delete any folder with name bitdefender)

    C:\Program Files (x86) (delete any folder with name bitdefender)

    C:\ProgramData (delete any folder with name bitdefender)

    C:\Users\{your pc name}\AppData\Local (delete any folder with name bitdefender)

    4) Open run command again and run below command one by one :

    temp ,delete all the files in the folder

    %temp% ,delete all the files in folder

    prefetch ,delete all the files in folder

    5) Restart your PC in general mode by unticking the option that you selected to run the system in safe mode and then click apply.

    6) Try reinstalling bitdefender free

    If this does not helps, you will have to contact support only, since support on forum is limited.

  • Has anyone tried Flexx's suggested fix?

    I'm having the same problem, I get an "update failed" notification every day for the past few weeks in my Windows notification, except the error code is -1002. When I open bitdefender, it shows "Update finished - update failed, error -1002," but then under that "Update finished - update successfully finished."
