Will IObit Uninstaller interfere in any way with Bitdefender's smooth operation? I am asking because IObit wants me to install an Advanced SystemCare plug-in that, IMHO is similar to what is included in my BD Total Security Settings.
Yes you got me right, see the different products stated by you are for different use. It is kind of bundled software. Only install that software which you need, if you are in no need for those additional software, don;t install them. Company display them because they have to promote their different product.
Additional information : IObit malware fighter uses bitdefender detection engine only.

You can go forward and install IObit Uninstaller & there is no need to install any additional plugin. I personally use the IObit uninstaller and have never faced any issue or need of installing any additional plugin.

Just so we are on the same page.
I wrote that IObit prompted me to install <<Advanced SystemCare>>, I added the term "plug-in" while it may not be a plug-in at all.
Are you saying that I do not need to install the following from IObit:
Advanced SystemCare
Driver Booster
IObit Malware Fighter
Smart Defrag
???
