I don't think this link addresses Bob's question. It directs how to add Bitdefender to a new Windows computer but does not seem to allow removal from the old device and use that as a credit for another device.

What led you to this thread? Did you go through the same type of situation?
That can be done by deleting the old device in our Central account (freeing up that slot), then installing it on the new device, and if needed, by getting a hold of customer support to straighten out any seat issues.

First, you need to remove the old device (the old PC/laptop/smartphone) from your Bitdefender Central account, by following these steps:
Then, you should uninstall the Bitdefender program from your old device (the old PC/laptop/smartphone), by following these steps:
After that, the old device (the old PC/laptop/smartphone) will be NOT listed in your Bitdefender Central account as a device using Bitdefender program.
