Cant Install NiceHash QuickMiner on BitDefender Total Security
Hi,
Im trying to setup QuickMiner on my home PC to try a bit of mining, using the instructions provided by the software authors.
However, whatever I try, when adding these to the exclusions, BitDefender keep stopping the installation or execution of the software.
Has anyone had any luck in getting this to work. Any help would be appreciated.
Many Thanks

I have the same problem with Nicehash miner but the support team does nothing with it. I am so frustrated I have almost given up on Bitdefender. The hard earned money I paid for this program and the totally unsatisfactory support I have gotten is totally shameful. It is almost robbery!!! Total shame on Bitdefender. A very untrustworthy company!!

I'm in the same boat. What information do you guys need? NiceHash is one of the most popular crypto mining programs out there. If you guys would want to get together and do a google hangout or something, I'd be happy to do it. I keep trying to do exclusions, and they stick for a time, but then BitDefender Total Security still catches me at some point. When it quarrantines files, sometimes I can put them back and sometimes I can't because it wiped the install folder. Getting very frustrated.

Hello everyone,
Be it any mining software, old or new, popular or unpopular, mining software are classified as malicious by various AV vendors. So, detection will always stay for them. You will have to disable real time protection of bitdefender before you want to install mining software (at your own risk). After you have installed the mining software, you will need to exclude the complete folder where the files of mining software are saved on PC, mainly in the program files folder. After setting exclusion, re enable the real time protection and then the mining software should work fine.
If the issue persists, kindly contact the bitdefender support by visiting https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/

Do you not understand he concept of False Positive? Gee, you would think that working in an AV company you would....
When will you stop this nonsense of blocking software you KNOW is not malicious?

This is a complete joke.
I'm having to run Microsoft Defender on my main PC despite owning a 10 machine licence for 'Bitdefender Total Security'. Why can't I simply add Nicehash to my list of excluded programs? Why do you insist on blocking/deleting this application against my wishes? What sort of 'service' is that?
I'm not asking for mining software to be whitelisted for all users, but I should have the option of running my chosen software on my machine.
I can't believe your proposed solution is to disable protection during mining! How is that in any way helpful or secure?
