Are there any reports on what trackers were blocked/secure data sent and received?

On the front page of the VPN window it reports what its done to protect the connection.

But there seems to be no more info other than x number of ads and trackers were blocked and so much data was sent securely. And I'd like to know, for example, what the 5.98gb of data that has been downloaded over the week as I haven't downloaded anything other than a few small pdf files.

Thanks in advance for any pointer

  • The data usage reported by Bitdefender VPN includes all data sent and received over your internet connection while the VPN is active. This includes not just file downloads but also routine activities like browsing web pages, streaming videos, online gaming, and any background data used by apps on your device.

The 5.98GB of data that has been downloaded over the week, as reported by Bitdefender VPN, includes all these activities. Even if you haven’t downloaded anything significant, the data usage can add up from these routine activities.

Most VPN providers, alongside Bitdefender VPN, do not log or store information about the specific applications or data usage of individual users.

If you want to monitor your data usage more closely, you might consider using a separate data monitoring tool that can provide a breakdown of data usage by application. This can give you a better idea of which activities or applications are using the most data.

    Hi Flexx,

thanks for the info. I have found the cause of the amount of data usage is down to the Hydra.exe in BD VPN app.

As an experiment I've had the VPN turned off for a day on my PC using the usual day to day apps - and no Netflix or online gaming - and my usage has dropped to less than 1gb.

So I am glad to know the usage isn't down to some sort of virus that's got by the BD security. But I think I will have to decide whether I should have the VPN running on my phone as I do have a data cap, plus I wonder how much the VPN slows down my phones' functionality when I am working away from home and office.
