Bitdefender Has Major Impact On Performance

So, I bought Bitdefender Total Security 2016 and upgraded to 2017.

I'm not gonna lie, my PC is not a beast but it gets the job done by scraping; I use my PC to play games.

After installing BD Total Security it has become IMPOSSIBLE to play games as vssserv.exe uses up all my CPU memory. I know it is the main process of BD but I couldn't care less. I usually clock in about 30fps but this....THIS..... ANIT-VIRUS.... has reduced me to about 15fps.

Please, just show me a way to turn off/ end process vsserv.exe. Please don't be vague and link me to other topics with no solution.

All I'm asking is that you guys show me a way....any way..... to free up the memory BD seems to intent on taking up.

(The whole point of buying BD was that it SUPPOSEDLY didn't take up too much memory.)

Can you please provide us with your system's specs and a screenshot of your Task Manager showing the Bitdefender processes ?

Also if you are running other security solutions it is advisable to remove them from the machine as multiple security solutions can cause slowdowns.

What build of Bitdefender are you running on that machine? What build version of Windows are you running on that machine?

I have a good PC but it still bugs me when I see that vsserv.exe is using 200MB of RAM.

Is that really necessary ?

I'm not running any other security service.

EDIT: I booted the PC in Safe Mode and moved vsserv.exe to Recycle Bin. When I want to start running Bitdefender again, can I just restore vsserv.exe and reboot the PC? Will Bitdefender start working again?

BD 2017 IS:

I've had to take it off my old 32bit Win 7 4gb ( really 3gb on a 32 bit) system today because of severe performance drag. It works good again, have it back on "BD free' from a few years ago. I do love BD but now down to only one of my three licenses in use.

Tampering with the product is highly discouraged.

200 MB of RAM is quite low. Windows allocates RAM to applications based on how much memory the machine has, the more RAM the more is allocated for each application.

However I found that more often the HDD is the one causing the slowdown rather than the RAM.

I kindly ask all of you that are experiencing slowdowns to contact our support via bitsy@bitdefender.com with the logs from the Bitdefender Support Tool log attached and a screenshot of your Task Manager showing the Bitdefender processes.
