I think the Live Aid concert had probably one of the best lineups in music history and gave the public an amazing live performance.

Oh yeah, Kraftwerk were the pioneers of electronic music, together with Giorgio Moroder and Jean Michel Jarre.
This sounds like playing Nintendo games.

I had to Google those two, as I wasn't sure if I had heard of either of them before...until I found this one. I had forgotten about it. Thanks for posting their names :)

Yes, the Chase! This guy had so much imagination when playing with the synthesizers. He is an inspiration to all electronic music performers that followed. And his comeback with Daft Punk was amazing! Listen to the interview at the beginning of this song, where he reveals how the journey started:

Winner, incredible list, Clapton :)
Roy Buchanan absolutely, and my favorite of his, Roy's Blues. I started it a bit past the intro. Tragic end to his life though, he had so much talent.
His, "You're Not Alone" LP was different, but I liked it.
Stephen Still had an album out where one side was live, electric, and the other acoustic. Wooden Ships on the electric side was fantastic.
Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes ," if you don't know me by now" is still one of my favorites.

A masterclass in Music Dynamics
Al Green's performance, is about knowing how and when to bring it all down and then take it up through the roof ,,, dynamics of the performance like Beethoven, roy buchanan, and buddy guy, its not just the notes its timing and knowing when to kick in that crescendo,,, if only Beethoven could have been signed to Motown or, Stax he would of loved it...lol :)
when you put a great guitar player and a great singer together you get this below ..Beth and Bonamosa
this guy goes from just talking the lyrics, to a soaring solo, and then lands it on a dime...Roy Buchanan
Mark likes the quiet bits cause it gives him time to wind it up and knock you off your feet ,,,,his best playing below
dynamics of music can be as effective as the notes one plays.

hey Scott ,,,yes Stephen Stills did some great solo work,,, i have that album "Stills live" one side all acoustic the other side is all electric live performance... he also did a album called "Stills Alone" its mostly all acoustic guitar he does covers of Beatles, bob dylan, and others, and the recorded sound of his Martin guitar came out great on that record.
Stills Live ,,, i love the groove on this song,,,but find rockymoutain way, great guitar on that too.
Stills did a album just called "Stephen Stills 2" love the guitar grove funk/bluesy tone, and man he can sing those high notes.
"Stills alone" album has hollis brown acoustic bob dylan cover.
and last stephen showing his blues and rock and roll roots on high energy acoustic rendition of crossroads/you cant catch me...to play like this and sing at the same time is not as easy as he makes it look. jumping from solo to rythm and singing at same time,,, gee i cant chew gum and walk at the same time LOL :D ....make note when he sings and plays on the bass string at the same time wow.
hope you enjoy Scott and the rest of you music buffs too.

Fantastic, I'm glad you're able to post here. I figured any member with the name of Clapton and an avatar of guitar would have some good ones.
Along the same lines regarding how and when to turn things up and down, was Guy Clark's also knowing where to put the pauses, to help take it in and and let it sink in a bit.
Thanks for the Stephen Still playlist. I had forgotten about Rocky Mountain Way on that LP. :)

One of my favorites by Emmylou
Then we have the perfect country western song, well almost, until Steve Goodman added "the list" that needed for it to be a perfect country song.
I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison
And I went to pick 'er up in the rain
But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck
She got runned over by a damned ol' train

That's some really nice music right there...my dad was playing guitar in a rock band in the 70's, in high school. I've inherited the love for music; as for the taste, I'm always learning :)

@Mike_BD that was your dad? AMAZING!! Classical guitar is one of the hardest forms of guitar to master, and he mastered it.
Steve Howe of Yes said something to the of effect of this, if you can master Classic guitar (i.e. proper form, fingering, fretting technique), then everything else becomes easier.
Edit: cool looking dude, too. He had the look of a musician :)

I love music very much, and now I discovered soundtracks for myself, now soundtracks from dramas

Yup, I agree. There are so many times for me while watching a movie or a TV drama, I look up the soundtrack for a song I really liked, or do the Goggle listen on my phone search.

That would have been an experience to have been in the crowd for that one.
I didn't realize he was the one who also composed the music for Gladiator. You woke me up to who was behind those incredible movie scores. Good one, @Mike_BD 😎

Hans Zimmer is a LEGEND! Listening to his creation is an immersion in the depths of the Universe. Here's what Ridley Scott had to say about him:
"I listen to Zimmer's music and I don't even have to shut my eyes. I can see the pictures. And that's why, in many respects, I know I can talk pictures with Hans. He responds to pictures."

That was one of those, "I remember where I was the first time I heard it"' albums.
Alan Parsons who helped engineer that album had quite a career including helping to engineer Abby Road and Let it Be, along with his own follow-up work.
