    I think you might have forgotten me . . . 😢

    I rebooted my computer, but BDTS does not show an extended subscription. I can only see an expiry date in Central. I am no good at math, so I am not going to attempt to do those calculations.

  • Hello @garioch7,

    The expiration date of your Total Security license has been changed from 30-08-2026 to 30-09-2026. Could you please check again and let me know if the expiration date has been updated successfully? This should be reflected in the Central account, but also in the Bitdefender UI. The only difference between the two is that in Central, the full expiration date is displayed, while the UI shows "Expires in xx days", when you click on your account name on the upper right-hand corner.

    When I checked Central yesterday, it was showing a September 2026 expiry. The computer app was still showing 965 days. Today it shows 995 days. There must have been a lag with the installed BDTS picking up your subscription extension.

    All is good now. Thank you for the subscription extension.

    @Alexandru_BD ,

    There is no specific Forum for my suggestion, so I am inserting it here. I don't think that BD employees, such as @camarie , should be listed as "Defenders of the Month" or "Top Contributors." My thought is that this is unfair to the rest of us who volunteer here. BD staff are paid for their contributions.

    Those contributions are very helpful, no doubt about it. But if @camarie is to be recognized, then why not you and @Mike_BD ?

    I was under the impression that the listings were an acknowledgement of the contributions of ordinary BD clients, not an employee recognition scheme.

    I would appreciate your thoughts and those of my peers here who contribute so many hours of their time assisting others by sharing their knowledge.

    My post was not addressed to you, but I did request the opinion of my peers, of which you are the foremost.

    Nothing in your reply satisfactorily responds to my suggestion and question to @Alexandru_BD . You are not in a position to "change the rules." If you disagree with my proposal, then please cast your vote. You never stated in your reply whether you agreed or not with my suggestion. You just pointed out the "status quo."

    There might well have been a discussion in the past to which I am ignorant. I accept that. Still, I believe that staff members have no place in the list of contributing volunteers because they are not volunteers. As it stands now, @camarie is depriving one volunteer of a placement on the list of top volunteers and Defenders of the Month.

    If the Forum is to continue to evolve to be a place where contributors can introduce new ideas and request the re-examination of previous decisions about the governance of the BD Forums to which we have both devoted so many volunteer hours, then it is to the detriment of the BD Forums, to which Alex and @Mike_BD have done so much to reinvigorate.

    You and I both remember "the bad old days" when the spammers were rampant, and the best we could do was suggest writing to "bitsy@bitdefender.com."

    Alex, in the post you cite, invites "Guests" to: "Register now, and become part of our community and let's chat."

  • Hello @garioch7, @Flexx,

    First of all, I want to say that I really appreciate your feedback and I will expand on the decision to temporarily include camarie in the leaderboard. I simply wanted to recognize his contributions publicly, since he is one of the most active members of our staff around here. But I think you are right, the leaderboard should display volunteer members of the community only, as it was intended in the first place. Because I respect you and I appreciate your opinions and in this specific case, I agree with what has been said above, starting with March, the Defenders of the month leaderboard will feature only the community volunteers that make it into the chart and will no longer include Bitdefender staff, to ensure fairness. The intention was not to keep BD Staff featured in the chart all of the time, it was more of a "one-time" only decision. Phil, what you've said makes total sense and yes, Flexx approached me on this topic as well.

    And like you said, camarie provides very valuable contributions and his presence is much appreciated in the community, and his absence from the leaderboard takes nothing away from him, he knows we are very fond of him around here. 😉
