Possible Forum Bug?
I note that the Parental Control announcement in the News and Blogs Forum shows as having one new post, and it is bolded, as is the case with the Expert Community Guidelines post at the top of this Forum. They don't unbold when read, and the new post flag remains.
Any ideas? Is anyone experiencing this?
Have a great day.
Regards,
Phil

Hello guys,
Yes, I confirm it happens the same for me, I deselected the 'announcement' box, refreshed the page, set the posts as 'announced' (sticky) again and after refreshing the page they still appear as unread (bolded) for some reason. Normally, what usually happens with new discussions is that they are no longer bolded after reading them and refreshing the page.
The only thing I did different a few days back was to 'bump' both threads. This brings them on top of the recent discussions list and above other announced threads that are featured there, so this might have something to do with the fact they are still bolded after accessing them. I'll check this further with our web devs. Thanks for sharing your feedback regarding this.

Thank you all for your replies. I am glad that it is not just me. I just found it odd and wondered . . .
It is nothing major, just an anomaly that I noticed and decided to ask about.
Have a great day.

Phil

Hmmm.. try to click 'dismiss' and see what happens:

That worked for the topic in this Forum. The Parental Control unbolded but moved down about halfway on the page, perhaps because I opened the topic and then pressed Dismiss . . . ?
Will log out and log in and see if that topic again moves to the top.
Stand by.
Logged, closed Chrome, reopened Chrome, cleared all browsing history, cookies, etc., and then logged back in. The Parental Control topic is still at mid page instead of being at the top where it formerly was.

So, when you click Dismiss, the post is lost among other posts. But when you locate the post and then click Dismiss again, which was already ticked, the post goes back to the top. But this time, it worksβthe bold highlight is no more visible.
To add to this, the same issue is also occurring with this one. This seems to be a forum bug. The solution you have provided is a temporary workaround but not the solution.

@Flexx ,
Thanks for the workaround. It worked for me. It is more of a minor nuisance than anything, but it would be nice to get it fixed.
Have a great day.

Phil
