Web Protection being disabled almost continuously
Bitdefender Mobile Security’s Web Protection feature is constantly being disabled on my new S23 with Android 13. Even after manually reactivating Web Protection, it will turn itself off again almost immediately, and then it will suddenly work for a day or two before being disabled yet again. I had this issue occasionally with my old S10E, most especially after the Android 12 upgrade, but nothing like this. I have tried every "fix" I could find on the Bitdefender website, but nothing works. I've given Bitdefender unrestricted battery access, I've given it access through Accessibility, yet nothing seems to works for very long.
Unfortunately, Bitdefender's fixes only cover through Android 12, but there is no mention of Android 13. I am getting seriously tired of seeing the "Configuration issue detected on your S23. Device security at risk" message and then having Bitdefender happily tell me that "No threats were detected in the past 7 days." Really? You were asleep most of the time...how would you even know?
I finally reached out to Bitdefender's Customer Service only to be told to do the fixes that Bitdefender had posted on their website. I told the CSR that I had, but there was no mention of Android 13 so I had to make do with the Android 12 fixes and they weren't working. I was summarily informed that he would make a note of it, and "they" would call me back. Click....
Has anyone found a resolution to this issue? I keep waiting for a fix, or good work around, from Bitdefender for an issue they know about, but it doesn't seem to be coming.

I have been working with support to get this problem :"Web Protection being disabled almost continuously" resolved for weeks and nothing they have done resolves the problem. They keep implying it is fixed but nothing has changed/worked over the entire time. The support ticket was opened on October 24 2024 and nothing has changed on my Android devices since that time. I keep getting that they claim it has been corrected with the latest version but so far nothing has changed. This effects both Android V10 & V14. Is Bitdefender no longer able to properly and adequately support Android devices? Without Android protection on my devices this product is not adequate for my needs. The latest communications with support make me believe that they are more interested in closing the ticket than fixing the problem. Given that my subscription renews in January I have enough time to select a more suitable and reliable option.

While too early to claim a resolution, I want to share this information. For the second morning in a row my Android V14 did not have Web Protection disabled. The one thing different I did was I cleared the cache on the App before retiring. This 'seemed" to work two days in a row but my Android V10, without clearing cache was faithfully in Web Protection failure on both days. I will be repeating this process on the Android V10 device today to see if the results are the same for this device as well. Given that my V14 Device has suffered these failure repeatedly for weeks I am cautiously optimistic that the V10 Device will also behave similarly…. 🤞

Both devices back to previous behavior. I am resigned to the fact That Bit Defender can no longer adequately support Android devices and will not be renewing the subscription. Support does not seem to have an answer, they are no longer responding…
