Why doesn't split-tunneling work with every site I add?

Split-tunneling not working for 'duckduckgo.com', as well as a few other websites. Forces me to disable VPN in order to access those websites.

  • Now, I feel I must add a bit of context here and better explain a particularity of this feature.

Let's say that you add the website xyz.com to split-tunneling. If you then go to xyz.com, this site's traffic will be routed outside the VPN tunnel for you. However, if for some reason the website xyz.com makes requests to completely different domains like zyx.com in the background, then these will not run through split-tunneling.

That's how it works for now. The VPN development teams are aware of this and have been trying for some time to find a way to recognize the origin of the request, so that everything in the request sequence can be routed through split-tunneling, but so far no viable solution has been found. For what it's worth, this is also how other VPN applications work, as far as I know, so it's not something specific to our VPN.
