Dns leaks
I'm concerned about the results of my recent DNS leak test. The website is displaying a fake IP address that doesn't match either my original IP or the one provided by BitVPN.
I've attached screenshots of both normal and deep checks for your reference. If this website is providing inaccurate results, please recommend a reliable DNS leak test website that can perform automated, detailed tests.

Hello,
I can't confirm if browserscan is reliable or not, but to figure out if there's an actual problem with the connection itself, we need to know what IP it was assigned when you connected to the VPN. And then perhaps try an alternative service to compare the results with those received from browserscan, for example

its the dns leak test report ( while using double-hop ) which is pretty hard to understand for me as nothing is clear just servers :
can you provide any perfect website like above which can answer in yes or no ?
i do not remember what ip i was using at that time but today i checked for double-hop & no dns leak was found there :
But DNS leaks were found while using a single virtual location instead of a double-hop , here is the detail.
Single IP :Report about the above ip:
2nd. Bitdefender's virtual ip :
( about the highlighted area ) i was connected to Denmark , but the result is showing Sweden instead, does this means the dns leak ?
The DNS lookups are being resolved by DNS servers located in Sweden, specifically by Google LLC. This means that my internet traffic is being routed through these servers instead of my local ISP (M247 Europe SRL).
plz let me know after getting the results about the above scenario.

whenever i connect to the auto location via bit vpn the website shows dns leaks:
The manual & selected virtual locations do not ve a dns leak:
No double-hop connection found as vulnerable :
i need your help ( plz contact the devs ) to be confirmed that may i use auto location or i ll ve to rely on manual selections which may cause greater latency.

Bitdefender staff are not available on the forum during weekends. They will return on Monday, and @Alexandru_BD will return on Tuesday.

I would advise you to test this using multiple dns leak services, before jumping to any conclusions. It's no secret that some of these websites manipulate the results in order to sell certain services and do not always give an accurate verdict. So, cross-reference with other similar services and see what results you get.

why bitdefender vpn is showing google servers instead of it's own and what does it mean? is it a more secured behavior? plz guide.
The following tests are performed using bitdefender vpn :
when using proton vpn :Does not it mean that bitdefender is using google servers which shows that the internet traffic is not entirely secured by bitdefender vpn and is shared with google ?
Why there are google servers instead of m247 encrypted servers ???The DNS leak test results of bitdefender indicate that it's DNS requests are not being properly encrypted by bitdefender VPN. This means that my ISP and other third parties can potentially see the websites i visit, even though i am connected to a VPN.

If you are running the (a) version of the VPN, then Google DNS is indeed used and that's why it appears in the list. But It's absolutely legitimate and there's no leak or anything like that. The next VPN version (b) will come with its own DNSs and it's expected to be deployed to all users soon.

Thanks for the help, Alexandru! 😊 Using Bitdefender's own DNS servers should provide enhanced security, right? This way, the VPN connection is solely controlled by Bitdefender, reducing the risk of potential vulnerabilities associated with third-party DNS providers like Google.
