Bitdefender search advisor is still not working with Bing
Even with the "Open links in new tab" disabled, the search advisor does not work with Bing
As mentioned in the article at
this was being worked on but it's been a year now and yet the issue is not resolved

Hello @partharoy1,
This is not an unresolved issue since last year. If you are not seeing the checkmarks for Search Advisor, disable the HTTP/3 (QUIC) Protocol. QUIC is the name for an experimental protocol created by Google. It stands for Quick UDP Internet Connection. The protocol supports a set of multiplexed connections over UDP and was designed to provide security protection equivalent to TLS/SSL, along with reduced connection and transport latency.
Some websites are not being filtered because they use the QUIC protocol. QUIC is not a standard SSL protocol, and Bitdefender’s Encrypted Web Scan feature (the one that ensures Search Advisor functionality) does not support Windows browsers with HTTP/3 (QUIC) protocol enabled.
Let us know if this fixed the issue.

Hi Alex,
Did you check the article that I gave a reference of? That option has already been disabled and the problem still exists with Bing.1 -
Hello @partharoy1,
Yes, I read the above thread shared by you, but I was not referring to the 'Open links in new tab' option, instead I was suggesting to disable HTTP/3 (QUIC) protocol in the affected browser, because I think this could be actually causing the issue you are facing, as per the article I shared with you previously. Have you also tried that? 🙂

I did, and in my case, it worked for both Google and Bing searches in Chrome :)

Hi Alex,
I had referred to the QUIC too and it is disabled on Edge but despite this, I'm still unable to view the search advisor rating icons. Have a look at the screenshots below0 -
Good Day @partharoy1
Just want to check did you try a reboot of the device after disabling it?
Look forward to hearing your warm reply

Hi Flansky,
Yes, but it still didn't work. Problem is only with Bing0 -
Hi Flexx,
Thanks, the extension allows the feature to work with Bing. Surprisingly, it's functional even with QUIC enabled. My question is: Why doesn't it work with Bing on Edge without the extension and when QUIC is disabled?"

Hello, I'm not speaking on behalf of @Flexx as he can reply as well if needed. It may have to do with the search advisor being tied in with the desktop app, Online Threat Prevention and has more engineering along side of it, with it (besides just an On and Off button) than the stand alone TrafficLight app, which is just a browser extension.
Cheers

I had already commented on this an hour or two ago but forgot to click on post 😂.
The Bitdefender Traffic Light extension provided an alternative solution to the issue, as it typically performs well. However, the inbuilt Bitdefender feature not functioning as expected remains a perplexing matter. While repairing the Bitdefender product (
) may not necessarily resolve the issue, I recommend reaching out to Bitdefender Support. It would be helpful to explain that, despite attempting various troubleshooting steps, including enabling and disabling QUIC, the issue with the inbuilt feature persists. The same behavior applies to the Traffic Light extension when QUIC is enabled or disabled; while it worked as intended, it is a separate product. This distinction does not clarify why the main Bitdefender feature failed to function.
I strongly suggest contacting Bitdefender Support for further guidance and resolution of this matter.
