About Bitdefender Forum

There is no place to report a bug or suggest a feature about our beloved bitdefender's forum.

There should be a Specific Place among the above about that.

Any forum glitches, bugs or issues with the pages should be reported to the admin and moderators directly via pm.

  • Hello @Rock.87,

While I appreciate the idea, I think such a function may not really be best suited among the main categories displayed on the forum. Most forum users visit for discussions, tutorials, troubleshooting, product insights, product support or social engagement. Forum bug reporting is often a secondary need for a subset of users, and in my opinion, a prominent bug reporting section can shift the focus from these primary objectives, giving an impression that the platform is prone to issues or overly focused on technical problems. Of course, any suggestions for areas of improvement, glitches or challenges that the users may face when utilizing the security solutions and Bitdefender products can be reported on the forum freely, but that's another topic unrelated to the actual platform.
Also, since bug reports typically require specialized handling (e.g., triage, tracking, assigning to teams, etc.), I think it's best to report any issues you may encounter on the forum pages to the admins (me) or to moderators directly via pm (in both cases, such reports will reach my inbox), so we can manage reports and possible issues systematically, without cluttering the main space and disrupting the forum activities.

Therefore, should you encounter any difficulties, glitches, content that's incorrectly displayed or blocked, or anything that falls into this category, my kind request is that you report them to me directly using the forum's private messaging function, so that I can evaluate, test, and classify them appropriately.
Please note that we have a dedicated team of specialists and web developers that can assist the forum management team with this type of inquiries, and it's part of my job to bring any platform related issues to their attention, and supervise their correction.

As a final note, I believe it is always necessary to distinguish between FAD (works as designed) reports and a potential problem, as such triage and assessment are the first steps after receiving any reports, and these will subsequently dictate the course of action.

    Thank you.

@Alexandru_BD thx for the quick & satisfactory response comrade 😍, i ve noted it down But Nobody ll be able to report the forum issues except those who know this secret , is not it?
so it ld be better to provide an option on the forum , it can be a little heading on the main page like '' contact support about the forum '' or something like that, which ll help even new users to easily get in touch with you. how does it sound ?😉

  • Hi,

There's no secret, anyone can report any issues they may encounter on the forum directly to me or the mods, as my admin role is displayed next to my username, so it's clearly visible and it goes without saying that such things can be brought to the attention of the page admins. 🙂

However, contacting admins and the bug hunting team are handled differently on some forums.

Based on my understanding, bug requests are primarily handled by forum admin @Alexandru_BD. If @Alexandru_BD is unable to resolve the issue, it is escalated to the Bitdefender web developers. While their primary role is to manage the main Bitdefender.com website, they also assist in developing the forum community website based on requests shared by @Alexandru_BD.

However, as all moderators and admins on this forum already know, the web developers occasionally visit the forum to monitor its status. They also create various test posts, which are later removed by the moderators and admins—posts you might not have noticed.

@Alexandru_BD, kindly correct me if I’m wrong. By the way, forgive me if I’ve highlighted your name so many times, lol! 😅

  • Bitdefender does have a bug bounty program which might be of interest to both of you @Rock.87 and @Flexx. Back in 2022, I've created the below post to announce it in the community:

    https://community.bitdefender.com/en/discussion/91976/are-you-an-ethical-hacker-you-can-become-our-next-bug-hunter

Now, this isn't actually a program that involves the community page, and it applies mostly to the product lineup. But since I've noticed that you both provide consistent feedback for Bitdefender, I think the bug bounty program is worth checking, because it also involves rewards (terms and conditions may apply).

As for the Bitdefender community, we don't have a dedicated bug bounty program for this, but we do have an established flow of reporting possible bugs internally, and specialized teams who handle this process.

  • And to provide an answer here as well, I think this depends on how the respective forums are organized, the resources they have, and of course whether they are hosted or developed internally by the company they belong to.

  • I’m good for now, as I’ve already received plenty of rewards from Bitdefender. I’ll wait until February 2025 before considering anything further. Currently, I have a lot of ongoing work with Bitdefender support, including discussions about changes, questions, product functionality, and malware submissions. I estimate that I have around 15-20 tickets open with Bitdefender support at the moment. So yeah, the bug bounty can wait for now.

In your notifications, do you have these disabled, as I think it has to do with those. If you are a part of a group, you will also get those notifications, unless you untick them. Maybe even uncheck the 2 above my red box?

    Cheers :)
