Pop up/malware?

Very basic old Mac user so go easy with me. Got a pop up in the right hand corner annoying bleep every 20 seconds. Mc Afee critical, then action required. so I downloaded Bitdefender thinking it would detect it and remove it, it didn't. Done a full scan no threats. How do I stop these notifications driving me mad with the constant bleep.

Hi @prem12

Do you have mcafee installed as your antivirus and now also bitdefender? Best to use only one antivirus so best to uninstall the mcafee antivirus.

Can you post a screenshot of the pop-up message you get from mcafee?

Thanks for the reply, I have stopped the pop up. Don't really know how just blocked as much as I could in preferences.
