That didn't work, but I uninstalled BD 2009 and replaced it with BD 2010. That did the trick.

BitDefender works fine after the latest update and system reboot.

I just got the same problem, but not with the same file as threadstarter. The files that BitDefender encountered problems with are: bdc1.tmp bdc20.tmp bdc3F.tmp bdc5E.tmp all located in the windows/temp directory Then the BitDefender icon turns gray.

I ran Exterminate It, a program i found through Google. This program found a lot of registry entries made by VCatch Antivirus. 26 of them to be exact. + 2 from FakeAlert.U. Maybe that's where the problem is?
