Daniel, Is the uninstall tool in the link provided by nikki605 good for uninstalling the BD 2010 version as well? Because I assume the 2010 version cannot just be removed from Add/Remove Programs.

I managed to log back in a few days ago. There was apparently a conflict at the level of the user's display image, somehow caused by the Hotmail's WebMessenger. I had to delete the Messenger's UTL register key in order to solve this. I'm not sure if I can put my display image back on now, I set it to None for now. I don't…

-
Cheers for the clarification, Cris.
-
Hmm ... didn't think about that, but it sounds like a logical approach to me. That would probably explain what happened then. Alright, thanks for the feedback.
-
Correction: the drop in signatures was 400,000, not 40,000. My mistake.
-

-
Actually, I might be wrong about the BD's interference ... I have searched a bit and it seems the problem might be cause by the new Hotmail setup with the WebMessenger. So it might be a false alarm ...

There were two updates last week for FF. After the first update, the antiphishing toolbar issue was rectified. However, after the second update, this has not occured. If peope are concerned about particular websites, just used explorer for those sites. Yes, it was an update to 3.6.4 and then to 3.6.6. Last Monday, BD had…
-
This got sorted out for me on Monday ... Last time I checked this morning, it was still compatible.
-
Unfortunately, the issue returned just now. I am sending you the link to the vsserv log via e-mail.

Daniel, Just thought I'd give you a brief feedback. Since returning from my vacation on May 30th, I haven't experienced the problem anymore. The longest I went without computer restarts, it was between last Thursday and yesterday, when the Windows Update made me restart it again (had other restarts for other things, none…

Alright, Daniel. If you need another vsserv trace log, let me know, because I have another one for you. Vsserv stopped a few minutes ago again. However it seems my workaround by having a shortcut to Vsserv on the desktop and right-clicking on the shortcut and clicking on "Run as administrator" seems to work. The icon was…
-
Daniel, Just to let you know it happened again. I'm sending you by PM the vsserv trace log, as requested.

I began experiencing this problem last week with BD AV 2010. It happened twice already, Friday and Sunday. See my post here: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...amp;#entry84704 I don't have the IS or TS version which would conflict with the Windows Firewall and I do not have other security solutions installed.…

It happened again an hour ago. "Vsserv.exe not responding" grey icon ... Please find here the link to my Support Tool report. http://www.sendspace.com/file/y7aq09 I would really appreciate a solution as soon as possible, as this is a rather irritating issue that I did not have before.

WORK AROUND TO GRAY ICON We run BitDefender Internet Security Build 13.0.20.47 in Windows XP Pro. We began to notice the system tray BD icon graying out. We right clicked on the icon, and clicked "Update Now". It woke up to bright red in a second or two. We disabled auto update, but got the alert triangle, and a request to…
-
Already asked here: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=19516 I got no response until now.
-
The BD update made it work, I didn't update it via FF.
-
The compatibility with FF 3.6.3 seems to have been fixed just now.

Someone get rid of this BananaLover joker spamming with whatever link they're posting all over the place.

Yeah, it's a 64bit system. I couldn't remember which disc I used when I installed it...the 32bit, or the 64bit...and it was the 64bit. I change operating systems so often on my home entertainment computer, I tend to forget. Whereas, my dev computers are used much more frequently...and my needs are specific. I'm downloading…

bdagent or something like that was missing on last reboot. Also, the quarantined system files in: C:\Windows C:\Windows\System32 etc. etc. When I attempt to restore them, I am prompted to "Browse" for the file location and the alert indicates that the path cannot be found. What??? Path to C:\Windows cannot be found?…

Ok, lets' find out what all common traits we all have, other than Win7 x64. The common trait is the x64 system, because Vista x64 is affected too.
-
Are you guys on Windows 7 64bit? The same thing is being posted on the German forum and that's the thing they have in common.

Here's what I got as an answer to the 'skipped items' question. http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=15049 All files that appear as Skipped in the scan report are clean.BitDefender 2010 has a new feature called SmartScan, which decreases the duration of the scan by adding clean files to a cache so that they…
