I solved the problem by uninstalling the BD 2018. With the program uninstalled, my boot time dropped to about 20 seconds. I reinstalled BD 2018 and everything is working well again. (my boot time is now 28 seconds as it has always been before). Does anyone have an idea as to how Bit Defender got corrupted to reduce the…

I will give that a try, thanks. Just so you know, this is not a new installation, I have been using but Bit Defender for years. What I have done in the meantime is I copied a backup that was two weeks old on to the SSD and it boot_s fine. Once bit defender updated, and I rebooted, the boot_s remained slow. I did not scan.…

Well, kind of. First of all, there's the annual tradition of including one or two BSODs free of charge with the release of the new yearly version. Fortunately, as it's been a few months, most of them have been fixed. Regarding Bitdefender Internet Security 2016 specifically, there's been a few changes; and one of them has…

You have Bitdefender Internet Security (2014). The reason this isn't labeled is because at one point, Bitdefender was going to drop year branding altogether. Instead, there would just be "Bitdefender Internet Security" or "Bitdefender Total Security" and they would always be the latest version. No longer would there be any…

Of course it won't last forever. As we speak Bitdefender is busy pumping out Bitdefender 2017. I'm actually familiar with the new logo. You can see it in all its glory on the Internet Security 2016 product information page: http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/internet-security.html Ultimately, yes this pop up ad is…

Perhaps I'm making too much out of this, but what caught my attention in your attachment is the Bitdefender Logo in the background. I'm unfamiliar with this one. Has Bitdefender made any changes? Yes, I noticed that as well. The logo does not seem as refined and somewhat different than what I have seen before. That made me…

Every time I reboot I received a splash screen with an offer to update to the latest bit defender version for free. The message looks somewhat cryptic. It only has two choices, upgrade or remind me later. How do I tell if it's legitimate? I attached a screen shot. Is it legit?

Since I don't reboot several times a day, the delay doesn't really bother me, frankly. You might take a look at these recommended settings for Windows Services and see if anything else you currently have starting automatically really needs to... http://www.blackviper.com/service-configurations/ Very interesting…

I noticed that after removing bit defender 2012 to upgrade to 2014 my boot up time dropped from 30 seconds to 21 seconds. With 2014 installed, my boot time went back up to 30 seconds. Apparently, 30% of my total boot up time is bit defender. I too, am waiting for a fix. In the meantime, would it be advisable or possible to…

My Microsoft Windows updates automatically so I am good there. I deleted the vulnerability reference in Bit Defender yesterday. Unfortunately, it came back again suggesting that I have 44 critical Windows updates.

Thank you! Hello Please send me a PM with that email address that you used in the activation process and I will activate your account from the system. Thank you! --- Later edit: I've searched in the system the email address that you used to register on the forums and I have activated that account. Take care.

Here is the pending activation pop up that appears at boot. My account seems to be already activated as I have almost 2 years left. Do I need another email so I can respond to it and activate again? Hello Could you please post here a screenshot so I can better understand this situation? [How to take a screenshot] 1. When…

The 2012 keys worked great on the trial 2013! Thanks
-
Yes,that is correct, as long as it's a legit vendor/retail copy, it will work. All 2012 users are able to upgrade to the 2013 with the same 2012 key. http://www.bitdefender.com/support/How-to-...r-2013-711.html Great, thanks!

I am currently running 2013 Total Security trial version successfully. I can purchase locally the 2012 version for 3 users / 2 years at a great price. Should I uninstall the 2013 and start over with 2012 or is there a upgrade price or another way to leave the 2013 installation as it is and use the 2012 license key (after…

Hello, The two places within BitDefender where you can add exceptions are: - Antivirus -> Exceptions: will add exceptions from scanning and Real Time Protection module; - Antivirus -> Advanced Settings -> Exclusions: will add exceptions for AVC / IDS; If you have any further queries feel free to contact us anytime! Best…

For me It was as simple as going into advanced settings and excluding the programs executable. (I thought this was accomplished in the exclusion tab, were I excluded the whole folder. Apparently, this area only excludes files and folders from the scanning process, where the advanced tab provides exclusion from protection).

Looks like I've solved this one! It was as simple as going into advanced settings and excluding the Casper executable. (I thought this was accomplished in the exclusion tab, were I excluded the whole folder. Apparently, this area only excludes files and folders from the scanning process, where the advanced tab provides…

Casper writes to the partition boot record and the master boot record at the completion of the imaging process. How and where do I tell DB to allow the program Casper.exe to perform these proper functions?

I have the same problem. Also, the tool is not avaiable for download anymore. How do I get it?

Many of us are wondering the same thing. Was this a malicious act by a disgruntled employee? Was it a typo, or some sort of accident? I am a relatively new user to BD, and there has been a lot of bashing, perhaps deservedly so, but I imagine this could happen with any of the competing products. What steps are being taken…

Open BD, click settings at the top & go into expert mode. Then click the update tab. It will show the info you need. Definitions: 5474032 engine: 7.30848 Thank you for your reply. These are the definition and engine numbers that are showing up on my system. Are they the good numbers or the bad numbers?

I am not certain, but I believe I missed this fiasco. My computer was in standby much of Saturday morning, hopefully missing the update. I noticed that my system updated Monday morning. Where do I find the version numbers of the bad update and the current one that we should be using? I do not want to scan my system until I…
