What's the status of this problem?
-
When I got bit Defender Anti-virus it seemed to be lightweight and nimble. I needed something with low impact because my PC doubles as a digital audio workstation and I can't afford the cycles. More and more frequently though, I have to go behind the programmers and manually fix a problem for them. Such as, having vsserve…

Hello Nezmo, Please rest assure that all the issues described by you are currently analyzed by my colleagues from the Testing team. You said that you encountered some BitDefender crashes . We would like you to follow the steps described in this post then send me a PM with the download link. Thank you. Thanks for the reply.…

We are currently investigating this issue. We do plan a fix for it. Thanks. I have been contacted outside of the forum in order to research this further.

6. IE8 thinks it crashed last session after every reboot and asks if I want to retore the last session or go to my home page. 7. Windows Explorer crashes at least once a day - this one is pretty serious. 8. All BD services crash (about 6 stacked up messages) while laptop sleeps.
-
Please advise if a fix is planned for this? If not I'll be forced to quit using BD (given all the other problems as well).

I get the same thing. Quite honestly my patience is running thin. I have about 4 or 5 siginficant problems with this product. All of them have been reported in this forum. Let's hope fixes come soon. I know software can't be totally bug free for the prices we pay for it but still, the problems this got released with are…

I have been able to set-up the BD Network okay but when a network computer goes to sleep (for example) after it returns it remains as offline to the other computers in the BD interface. Reboots do not resolve it consistently.

So, we'll see a fix for this right?

I have experienced this on more than one machine. I've followed the work around and it holds for a while then the problem re-occurs. Please advise.

Update - I see now that lowering the Protection Level to Permissive turns off Active Virus Control by default.

Hi, Yes, turning off Active Virus Control also stops iTunes crashing for me too. However, If I re-enable it and then restart iTunes, iTunes does not crash. Very odd. I'm leary of deactivating this option. This would seem to take away an important AV component. I'll give the exclusions option a try. Note, I had tried…

Sory for the post flood. I do realize it is iTunes crashing and not BitDefender but this has only happened with the installation of BD so I was hoping for some insight from the folks here. Evidentally the BDAV component is blocking something in a nasty way causing iTunes to burp.
-
I've gone through some further process of elimination steps and pinned this down to the antivirus component. With that disabled the problem goes away. Also, if it's disabled then re-enabled while iTunes is running, iTunes continues to function okay (plays DRM protected files). If you then restart iTunes (with antivirus…

New BitDefender user as of today. Installed Total Security 2010. When trying to play a DRM-protected AAC file (M4P estension) iTunes crashes. This problem was not present prior to installing BitDefender. Problem occurs on both machines I have installed on so far. I have tried playing the files streamed from another machine…
