All the emails related to this purchase have been forwarded to you as of late yesterday night and I'm now waiting for hear back from you. Which I again hope will happen swiftly since I of course like to react as quickly if possible if the purchase I did turns out to be some kind of fraud using your company and product…

Will forward the emails I got and expect to hear promptly from you to know if I should get in touch with PayPal to stop/cancel the payment.

Got it. So there's no way for me to manually save those settings and keep them safe somewhere?

Reason for my question is I didn't know what forum to post in when I didn't find the version, 2019 or 2020. Of course your decision but since the official name of the product seems to always include the year, IMO it would make sense to also use the same name in the title bar. No big deal. More important is my second…

Brilliant, thanks! And may I suggest the version is included/seen also on the main dashboard and/or in the title bar. Certainly the build won't need to be there but would be helpful being able to determine if you're on 2019 or 2020 with a quick glance. What about saving your current configuration/settings?

Installed IE, followed your steps and worked like a charm! Thanks

Hello Roxana, Thanks! Currently I don't have IE installed on my PC so won't be able to follow your instructions but could install it I guess just to perform the steps you suggest and then uninstall it again.

Cool, thanks! Since posting this, the tool (.exe file) in question has also been updated where the developer who I discussed this with has done some changes to decrease the chances to set off false alarms. Tried out the latest version yesterday and it didn't trigger Bitdefender. So it all seems good right now :-)

Thanks for getting back to me Sergiu! However, it looks this problem has already been sorted. What I did to fix is was to perform a complete uninstallation of both Chrome and Bitdefender. I even went into the registry to clean out any remaining entries in there. After doing this I reinstalled first Bitdefender and then…

Already bought the payware version so not a problem anymore but thanks anyway
-
Thanks, will keep that in mind going forward.

Just found this so I guess the file has already been automatically submitted.

2 hours ago, Matei M. said: yes, send an email to bitsy@bitdefender.com OK, was thinking there was some way doing it directly from inside the application by simply right-clicking the file/potential threat and especially when using the payware version but thanks for the email address! Will send them an email.

Thanks again. What you say makes sense and thanks for the link to the PDF doc, didn't see that one before.
-
Thanks for the tip, I'll try that.

Forgot to include the product and Windows version info in my post above. This is for Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2018 on Windows [Version 10.0.16299.371].
-
Since I'm no longer allowed to edit my post above I will add here that I'm using Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.16299.371].
-
Thanks, will do some comparison and see what I end up with.

Maybe it's not possible in the free version. Right now I'm just evaluating Bitdefender but if I like it in the end, I have no issues paying for it to unlock additional features.
