Hi problems like this with an antivirus programme are common and if you want to uninstall it due to this, you would end up with no antivirus on your system.

Hi Mcafee caused a serious problem for me four years ago due to corrupted signatures. exe files other than those of windows had their extension changed and could not be repaired. I had to format and install windows. Mcafee had a news on this as well. I stopped using Mcafee since then, after 7 years with them.

Hi change firewall to 'allow known programmes'. If still firefox does not work, try out to do as follows. firewall - rules - add rule: browse and find firefox (local - no, protocol - any)
-
Hi allow(add) firefox in firewall - rules.
-
Hi try out a repair of the installation. This could be done through BitDefender entry in start menu.

Hi some of BD files are missing either because you removed some registry keys or shared files. Try to repair BD.

Hi popsb please post your firefox thread here where you explained your sound problems. Did you try to update your audio drivers? Did you remove any of your audio codec suite such as K-lite codec pack or divx?
-
Hi what version did you have before and what version are you trying to install now?
-
Hi well the update URL in my post should actually read as http://upgrade.bitdefender.com/.
-
Hi you might have removed the shared files when you uninstalled the software that came with your router. I advise you to reinstall your BD.
-
Hi every time you suspect a detection is false, please submit it to BD. They would analyse the files and remove from the detection, if found as false detections. Other than adding the detections to the exception list, BD probably does not offer any other way, to stop them from further detections.
-
Hi please let me know your system configuration (hardware on it). Try out CCleaner to clean all your temp files. Do a defragmentation. Select 'scan only changed files' for BD realtime scanning.
-
Hi check if your USB is write protected.
-
Hi is this anyhow related to BitDefender? If not, please ask on Firefox Forum.
-
Hi what server you have to update? It should be as http://upgrade.bitdefender.com/
-
Hi it may be a false alarm and there are may not be any need to delete it. Please send the file to BD.
-
Hi probably BD is scanning in the background, and the pending status is not updated yet. If the scanning is over, try and restart the system and see if the problem has disappeared now.
-
Hi I would suggest you to double check those steps and repeat it again.
-
Hi please post here the Hijackthis download link that you used. If the problem is with BD signatures, everyone who has it, should face the same problem!
-
Hi please post here the download link. thanks
-
Hi Russ did this problem happen before you had BitDefender? This problem could be due to a virus, probably conficker! Its characteristics are similar to what you are facing now! Hemanth

Hi Graystoke, 1. Firewall - Settings: Set the 'Default Action' to 'Allow Known Programs'. 2. Firewall - Settings: Click 'Advanced Settings'. Here uncheck 'monitor changes in programs that match firewall rules' and 'strict automatic rules' if you have them enabled. Hemanth

Hi arash could you set the update server in A to http://upgrade.bitdefender.com/ and now see if you can download updates? Hemanth

Hi David P fixing is not done for a particular version of BD but for BD as a suite. Hemanth

Hi how long has been your system on?
-
Hi Ron good you found it now!

Hi looks like a 99.99% false alarm for me. mobsync.exe is a process associated with Internet Explorer and is used to synchronize the offline pages you have chosen to be stored locally with the matching online pages. This was why the file was not deleted. Please attach and email to support[AT]bitdefender[DOT]com with…

Hi looks like you had other internet security suite on your system before you installed BD. Remove all of them without leaving any trace.
-
Hi on IE, go to view-toolbars, see if BD toolbar is enabled there. Hemanth
