  • Finally, we have success. Per instructions from development, I ran the "Kaspersky Uninstaller". Of course, if BDIS had worked in the first place, I wouldn't have tried Kaspersky. In any case, the uninstaller rendered my PC useless (no mouse). I tried to do a restore, but Windows claimed that my antivirus software was…
  • Are you guys making any progress? I can't be the only one with this problem. I'm also curious as to what happened to "bdupd.dll". It sounds like it is for updates. During the initial install, it is installed in "Antivirus_000_001" directory. After the first update to the database and the concomitant reboot, it disappears…
  • Hi Nick Welcome to our forums. Please follow the steps explained in the article below and send me via PM the generated log file: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=29927 If you were already asked to generate the log file, disregard the message above and just post the ticket ID. Thank you. This sounds like a…
  • Christian, Is there any activity going on here? It appears that during the initial installation phase, all of the modules involved in BDIS are turned on and running. As soon as I reboot, the registry seems to have lost track of where the modules and associated dll's are located. It looks like the antivirus is partially…

  • Chris, I checked "Device manager" and had two entries for "Bitdefender AVC HV". One valid, and one with a "!". Per another post regarding this problem, I uninstalled the one with a "!" and rebooted and the previously good one disappeared. I'm becoming quite frustrated with this product. Thanks, Leighton
  • Chris, FYI, I went into MSCONFIG and disabled all unnecessary boot items except for Sound, Keyboard and Mouse. Got the exact same results. That makes me feel better that there isn't a conflict with my other applications. I also used your BDuninstaller and completely uninstalled then re-installed BDIS. I was able to add…

  • Chris, Can't add entries in "Antivirus|Exclusions|Processes" to exclude a process. I added a file to be excluded, and when I tried to exclude the process, was unable to add ANY process exclusions. Thanks, Leighton

  • Chris, I've also noticed occasional multiple instances of pchooklaunch32.exe running. That can't be normal. Thanks, Leighton
  • @DanyDan, Well? I think I've been relatively patient about this matter. Please, find out what is going on. I checked, and I have 22 days left on my existing license. The license is running out, and so is my patience. We shouldn't have to resort to a work-around. After all, it's the Operating System that you've affected…
  • @DanyDan Has this issue(Win 7 indexing) been resolved? I've been waiting since October for a fix. Ive been using MSE in the interim. It's not very good, but at least it works with Windows 7. My license for BDAV has(or is about to) run out. I refuse to buy a new license until I'm satisfied that it has been fixed. You've had…

  • Guys, We are now at 70 days since this was first reported. Anything that interferes with the OS has to be considered a major bug. It should have been dealt with in less than a week in order to preserve your credibility in the marketplace. Taking this long is inexcusable. We've been more than patient, but I think you've…
  • Be patient. They've only had 48 days to find the problem. Some things take time. In the meantime, I've fallen back on Microsoft's MSE antivirus/antimalware package. I doubt they would allow their software to interfere with the OS. Leighton
  • @leon108 Agreed. Shortly after I tried that, it failed again. This time, it told me I didn't have any 'active antivirus protection'(words to that effect), even though I clearly had antivirus turned on. I gave up and uninstalled BDAV 2011. I will wait until I hear that they finally have their ducks in a row before I try…
  • For what it's worth, I was able to resolve this issue on my PC. I went to the 'Start Menu| BitDefender |Remove or Repair' and have it do a repair. Reboot and voila, the search indexing has been restored. Remember to wait several minutes before checking the indexing since the 'Search Service' is set to run 'Automatic…
  • Dan, Marek and I have answered your question regarding version. Does this info help you isolate the problem? Leighton
  • Hello, @Leighton: Please check the following files and tell me the version you have for each: - nag.ui - nag.dll - nag.xml - bdagent.exe All 3 have the software in English ? Dan, Yes, English. nag.ui No version # nag.dll 14.0.23.3 nag.xml No version # bdagent.exe 14.0.23.23 Of great interest to me is the fact that all four…
  • Dan, I hate to have to jump on the bandwagon, BUT, here we are on 26 Sep 2010 and the 'invalid license' message has reappeared again. I've done all of the recommendations listed in the other posts, but the problem still persists. I'm obviously not the only one seeing this issue. I've used your uninstaller and re-installed…

  • Dan, I did the repair. Haven't seen a hiccup since. I couldn't find any way to backup my settings. I had to go back in and restore all of my settings. How do you backup settings? BDAV 2010 had a way to do it, but I couldn't find it in BDAV 2011. Thanks, Leighton

  • Hello Leighton, Was the issue fixed temporarily after the update or was it always there? Make sure you update BitDefender by right clicking on the icon in the system tray and select Update Now. George, It was fixed, but now on the 18th, it's back. All updates are current(I wouldn't have it any other way). Thanks, Leighton
  • I'm seeing the same results as the original post in this thread(programinjo). I also have Windows 7, but [x86] version. If I check the status of BDAV 2011, it says everything is running. Conversely, on occasion, the icon is missing from the taskbar notification area, but the scan activity window is present. If I check the…
  • I'm having the same problem. BSOD. Routine in error is 'bdftdif.sys'. I understand this is a part of the BD firewall. I don't use the firewall. I am using BDAV2010. Why is a firewall driver being called? Should I just rename the file? Will something else blow up because it's renamed? It doesn't matter if I use Firefox or…

  • I keep setting the "Scan activity bar visibility" to display, but the setting won't stick. Every time I reboot I have to go back to "General|Settings|Show the scan activity bar" and unset/reset and the bar comes back. I've also got the display set in the overall settings to display the activity bar. Please don't tell me to…
  • Hello Leighton, We are aware of this issue and we are currently working on a fix . Until we will release it through automatic update please browse to the next location from your system:C:\WINDOWS\system32 and delete the file called "user_gensett.xml" . Reboot your system and look if the same issue occurs. Thank you. In…
