  • I finally gave up several months ago, this has been a on going problem for at least 2 years now, before this happened BD had my support as being the BEST security solution around. I was just checking in to see if BD had solved the problem, seems it still is going on unanswered. I wish they would get it fixed.
  • DanyDan, I don't think you can help this issue, it has persisted for almost 3 years now without resolve. It has gotten worse over time and I've been using BD security for many years, up until V10 it was the best and required very little tweaking. I believe there are many people who are experiencing problems with BD and…
  • Switching to Norton 360, have ran it on 2 laptops for over 3 years with no major problems like this "vsserv.exe" it completely stalls even a duo core processor, one of my laptops only has a old single core Intel CPU with only a 1.5 GB memory Norton 360 has never slowed it down let alone stalling it out. What a tale, that…
  • One thing that definitely will help, set your automatic updates to 4 hours or 6 hours apart. This problem occurs every time after Bit Defender downloads latest updates and begins to install them, it helped for me. But I still can't believe BD can not fix this problem.
  • BTW did upgrading help anyone, I've only saw one response and that person said they were still having problems with vsserv.
  • I can not believe this has been going on for almost 15 months now, without a patch or a fix. At one time BitDefender was the best, what a shame to let something go on for this long.
  • I'm having the same problem, sometimes everything is fine but when "vsserv.exe" goes on its rampage everthing hangs and stops. I wish they could or would fix this bug.
  • I went back to BD Internet Security2008 almost a year ago, had the same problems you are experiencing. No problems since except for BDIS2008 interfering with MSinfo, I have to disable RealTime AV Scanner to allow MSinfo to work. BD answer was to upgrade to BDIS 2010. I had nothing but problems with BDIS 2009. I'm afraid to…
  • BDIS 2008 is blocking Msinfo32 System Information Tool, I don't have a idea why BDIS 08 is keeping this tool from gathering system information. I've posted on several MS support forums done many things to try to get System Information Tool to work for the past couple of months, this evening I disabled AV shield and System…
  • Hi! We have sent you a new license key that is valid for both version 2008 and version 2009. Please check the last reply for ticket number 200907171000571 Thank you! Thank You, for fast response, some of the on line chat support did not leave me any answer. One did. Thanks again for your help. I hated the thought of…
  • Hello! Sure, when you renew your BitDefendre subscription, you receive a license key compatible with the most recent version of BitDefender, that is with BitDefender 2009. Please follow the next link so you will renew your BitDefender license key: http://www.bitdefender.com/site/Buy/quickRenew/ But they will not work with…
  • I've just renewed my subscription for another year I thought. Went by the way of the subscription nag screen. And I got a renewal for BDIS 2009 instead of BDIS 2008. BD customer care is lousy the only thing they told me I could do is install BDIS 2009, I've used it earlier and felt like a guinea pig for BD, to buggy and…
  • I had the same experience when trying to let NVIDIA's Automatic Driver Scanner search for my Nvidia drivers for a update on 02/08/2009, and about a month earlier. BDIS 2008 is deleting it, as I try to let Nvidia update my video drivers.
  • My BD IS 2008 went dead last night after a update around midnight, I unistalled and reinstalled after trying to run repair. It would work fine until I updated , then it would die again. Any body else have this problem?
  • If BD Total Security 2009 is like BD Internet Security 2008 & BD Total Security 2008, you may have to reset your firewall settings, I'm using a LINKSYS Router. I have mine set it up as a direct Internet connection, to a trusted private or home network. You have to go your firewall settings/ Traffic Tab/ Reset Profile/,…
  • Does anyone have any idea why BD Internet Security ver.10 will not scan registry keys or cookies during virus scans and I have tried it full system scan, deep system scan, and custom scan of both full and deep scans with scan registry keys and cookies enabled. It will not work any others having this problem or a fix? I've…
  • Spyware Doctor finds some malicious files bundled with DBFE10, are they malicious or is Spyware Doctor just going insane? They are: c:\program files\ditbefender\zlib.dll (vsserv.exe) c:\program files\common files\softwin\bitdefender update service\zlib.dll (livesrv.exe) Spyware Doctor claim the files to be…
  • Done that it works, thanks. Still having problems with BD Internet Security vs.10 though. I think they just disabled some of the functions of BD Internet Security vs.10 as a work around instead of fixing problem. Does anyone have any idea why BD Internet Security ver.10 will not scan registry keys or cookies during virus…
  • BD team reacts extremely quick in false positive issues. I think I know how they fixed this problem now, this is in another post for help. Does anyone have any idea why BD Internet Security ver.10 will not scan registry keys or cookies during virus scans and I have tried it full system scan, deep system scan, and custom…
  • Here it is BD must have cured the problem, it's not deleting or finding any problem with " nwprovau.dll " when I scan it or scan the computer. Or when real time protection is on.
  • I have the same problem with Spyware Dr, I believe its a false positive. I even had Bit Defender stop Microsoft's Update program and delete my critical updates Tuesday. Bit Defender said it was infected with Trojan.Mondera.I., BD would delete and Windows would reinstall it, it happened several times and I finally turned…
  • I will send Bit Defender's later, I really think Microsoft and Bit Defender files are all false positives. But I don't run PC Doctors program in real time only use it as a scanner to catch anything BD may have missed. But I like BD real time protection, and it does not give me a choice to ignore this file, it deletes it…
  • Please put the file in a zip or rar archive protected with the password infected and attach it on your next reply. Here it is /applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=3097" data-fileid="3097" rel="">nwprovau.zip
  • Windows 2000 doesn't have a good system restore, it will only take you back to last successful start up. Still don't know if it would be safe to restore backed up registry in BD files with regedit.
  • July 25, 2008 I have been in continuous contact with BD. They had told me they were working on it and would have an update by the the 24th july. But OE still crashed last night. I have not heard anything today. I have contacted them again but no reply yet. Luc I enabled Antispam filter last night and everything is working…

  • Ever since installing Service Pack 1 I have had intermittent internet connectivity issues. Now I have read all about the problems users of ZA have had with the issues. I'm wondering if anyone has had that problem with BD Total Security 2008 which I have? I have tried almost everything I can think of to get things working…
  • I am also having a problem with bitdefender and outlook express. My problem is somewhat different. OE frequently crashes when trying to reply, forward or even creating a new e-mail. I have contacted Bitdefender support program by e-mail, by phone, by chat but to no avail. they made me down load some program to try to track…

  • Hello tds, Different bug reports have been for all BD versions, since it appeared. So the best way to see if it works without problems is to just test it. There are many situations in which something might conflict with some other software and cause problems. That's why it's always a good idea to "try before you buy".…
