Unable To Perform A Deep System Scan

In BitDefender Antivirus Pro 2011 how do I scan a specific file or folder? From the Antivirus -> Virus Scan pane I have tried to add a new task and added a new item e.g. c:\Program Files\****** to scan folder ******.
