Boot your PC from linux if you can and edit that file from linux.
Always when it is needed to edit some files that are protected by system I just use ubuntu because linux doesn't respect same rules than windows " />
BTW. Live CD protection could be great new feature to BD2013. Now hackers can just boot the computer from linux cd and delete all BitDefender files from disk and dump the admin account and its password from you-know-where-(aka-SAM). Then they just enter the admin password and do what ever they want. Currently only way to prevent that is to encrypt hold hard drive but that eats performance a lot so many users don't do that.
If a "hacker" has physical access to your system, you're screwed either way. Boot access is root access.
