Why is BD Password Manager to SecurePass upgrade so difficult.

It requests a new Master Password; it won't accept my previous 10-digit one & at 13 letters/numbers it says the Password is ''too short'' & at 14 it says ''not complex enough''. And if your password requirement is so complex how will we commit it to memory? Can I choose not to upgrade & stay with Password Manager which fully suits my needs?

    Hello.

    Check out this article:

Until now, i haven't read any article about end of life (EOL) for Password Manager, so it seems that you can stay with Password Manager as long as you want or at least until EOL is announced.

    Regards.

To add to this, I have shared the information with Bitdefender support and asked them to update the article regarding Bitdefender's End of Life (EOL) products. Once there is any information related to any Bitdefender product reaching its End of Life (EOL) and the product it has been upgraded to, it will be updated in the link provided below

  • Hi @Appleseed91,

The Master Password from Password Manager will not work with SecurePass. The minimum requirements for the password were designed with account security in mind. Nowadays, I think that any secure and reliable application has such a set of requirements for the account password. SecurePass requires minimum 14 characters, at least one lower case letter, at least one upper case letter, at least one special character and also a digit, for the password to be considered secure enough.
