Will new features be added in Bitdefender to enhance sensitive files' security?

I trust Bitdefender to protect me.

And I want it to include new features to further enhance security against malware modification.

Will there be a future update with new features for Bitdefender products?

What types of new features would you like to see in Bitdefender consumer products?

Some of the functionality you are looking for may already be available, either under a different name or implemented in a different way than you might expect.

If you can share a few examples of the features you would like to have, we can determine whether similar capabilities already exist in Bitdefender consumer products or whether they would require entirely new functionality to be added.

Same thing I was thinking when I saw this thread last night, improve the security in what way? It's already one of the best AV's regarding online, device security, what could be improved, besides some  of the features and their functionality?

The "Folder Guard" feature (strict manual folder protection):

This should be a completely new, dedicated feature where users can manually add any local folder or specific path to "strict lock mode." Once added to Folder Guard, no application, background process, or ****** (even if trusted or running in the background) is allowed to modify, overwrite, rename, or delete files within that folder without triggering a clear, visible alert requesting user permission. This gives us absolute control over our most sensitive data.

I'm not sure if it's automatically enabled to protect my sensitive files.

Or if it's not already enabled, and will you add it in the future with a different name that better reflects Bitdefender's powerful protection of sensitive files?

What are your personal thoughts on this feature request?

Do you think it would provide meaningful value to users, or do you feel it would unnecessarily add complexity and contribute to feature bloat within Bitdefender consumer products?

My view is that a feature should not be rejected simply because it adds another option. The more important question is whether it addresses a real user need and whether it can be implemented in a way that remains optional and unobtrusive for users who do not need it.

I'm interested in hearing your perspectives, particularly on whether you see practical benefits for users or whether you believe the existing protection layers already cover the same use case.

Hi,

There was a feature called "File Vault", however this is no longer part of Bitdefender products. The feature has been discontinued as of July 2020 and it's unlikely to come back. Another feature, 'Safe Files' was also discontinued in the same year and there are no plans to reinstate this option in Bitdefender products for Windows devices. However, this feature is still available in Antivirus for Mac.

In regards to your question - is Bitdefender sufficient protection as it is?, I think the answer is yes, based on what I've described in the above thread concerning the Ransomware Remediation and Advanced Threat Defense security layers. Folder protection is ensured by these two modules, along with other defense mechanisms in Bitdefender.
