Native Bitdefender App for Android TV / Google TV (Remote Navigation & VPN)

Hi everyone,

I’d love to see Bitdefender release a native Android TV / Google TV security app.

With so many smart TVs running on Android OS, users frequently install custom media players, file managers, and sideloaded apps. Having real-time APK scanning, web protection against phishing links, and a UI optimized for a TV remote control would be a massive upgrade for home network security.

Currently, the phone app isn't designed for TV remote navigation. Having an official TV version integrated into our Bitdefender Central accounts would add great value to total family subscriptions.

A native Android TV/Google TV version would be a great addition. Real-time APK scanning, web protection, and a remote-friendly interface would make Bitdefender much more practical for TV users. Integrating it with Bitdefender Central and existing family subscriptions would also make sense. Definitely worth adding to the roadmap.

The product teams are developing VPN apps for big screens already. However, I don't know what to say about a native security app. I don't think there's a market for that, really. This is more IoT territory.
