Ancestry.com Java ****** Blocked By Bitdefender

On Ancestry.com there are a number of Icons used to load database information via java ****** in a dropdown list. Two of these are now being blocked by

Bitdefender. One lists messages people have sent to you and the other lists recent Hints ancestry has found for you. These stopped working in the last

week or so. Others at Ancestry.com who use Bitdefender also have the exact same problem. Problem happens on IE 11, Chrome and Firefox.

After uninstalling BD 2013 Antivirus Plus the problem went away. Reinstalled the BD 2013 AV Plus and problem came back. Updated BD AV Plus from 2013

to 2014 and problem still there.

In Chrome I was able to get some insight to the problem by right clicking the Icons with the problems and selecting "Inspect element" It then listed the line

java ****** that was causing the problem. Selecting the "Console tab" showed what the error was. Does anyone know how I can stop Bitdefender AV from

blocking these webpage items. I'm locked out of getting messages by Bitdefender. The following is what I found in Chrome.

When I turn On-access scanning OFF, the website works. This is a Bitdefender issue and so far no

response even though I used the Bitdefender support tool. There are probably hundreds if not

thousands of people affected by this so I don't understand the lack of response. They could at least

say they got my data and are looking into it.

After years of using Bitdefender, an otherwise very good product, I am now forced to look for another

AV product because I cannot afford to be blocked from Ancestry.com.
