This type of popup occurs regularly and I can't get rid of it. I've tried a variety of malware and virus software packages and none have detected whatever is causing it. I'm running the latest version of Windows 10. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hello,
To add here, these notifications and pop-ups may not have anything malicious attached to them, but when you click on them, they will redirect to malicious sites that try to collect your data or install abusive or dangerous software. By the looks of it, it's definitely a fake antivirus ad.
Your antivirus cannot take any direct measures related to this type of notifications, such as adware that you agreed on or something you enabled, like site setting, site notification, redirects in your browser or installed toolbars, extensions or applications, so no matter how many security solutions you will try, they won't be able to remove this.
I recommend Ublock Origin to block ads, and Bitdefender's Anti-tracker will also prove very useful if you wish to stop tracking cookies.
A browser reset and removing unwanted extensions from it should be enough, as these notifications and pop-ups are browser related, hence the inability of the antivirus to remove them.
Regards,
Alex
Just a complement to what @Gjoksi and @Alexandru_BD mentioned.
A program that can help you in this case is
[*url removed by @Flexx*]
Simply download and scan. There's no need to install the software on your device, rest assured.

If it can help to simplify things and works, I'm all for that :) For me, it doesn't always have to be done through and by BD, if we can, as the Beatles say, "get by with a little help from our friends"...at MBAM :)
Of course, I'm glad you think so 😄your words are my words
There's no reason to complicate something that could be simple 😉 if it doesn't work, then yes, let's move on to other, more robust solutions :)
@Gjoksi
Sorry for my mistake (I didn't know about this rule).
Simple, I wanted to complement your post and offer another help option.
@Alexandru_BD Please don't be mad at me 😭
@Gjoksi haha that's good my friend, feel free to play with me there's no problem 😄
@Scott thank you for all the support you have given me, I am very grateful for that 👏
Please @Webbster, take a look at this thread, I believe it will help with the problem you are suffering from →
Very nice. Maybe start a thread regarding this, where the list can be added on to?
If you allow, I'll create a thread to record this. I believe it is useful for different situations 😉
I think @Flexx may also appreciate it?
@Alexandru_BD, @Scott, @Flexx and @Gjoksi Here it is
What do you think? I hope it's useful to someone 😙
Very nice...I'm impressed :) :)
Thank you everyone. I'll digest your recommendations and go to work on it this weekend. I will report back on the what I did and the results when I have them.
@Webbster ok no problem 🙂 your feedback is welcome and expected.
Nice idea 🙂
Regards
Good thread @Guilhermesene, thank you for this! 👍️
I foresee a series: "Tips for security by Guilherme" - Exclusively on Bitdefender community! 😄
@Scott the island is not done with you!! 😂
Sorry for hijacking your thread @Webbster, please do let us know if you could get rid of that pop-up. 😁
Cheers!
@Webbster your post is getting spammed, lol. It seems like you need to get rid of the spammers on the forum too. Whom will you contact, admins or mods? 😂
Nevertheless, I hope your issue has been resolved.
@Alexandru_BD Hahaha that would be interesting 🤔😆
It will be a few days before I can get to trying your solutions.
Thanks
Okay, no problem :) do it in your own time
