Congratulations, 2012 Is Even Worse Then Before

I have been using Bitdefender for years. I have put up with your constant removal of more and more feaures. I have put up with more and more bugs. I have put up with your changing interface that is harder to set with each new version. I have put up with your firewall whitelist that activates itself at least once a week, allowing programs I would never allow to connect to internet, without my knowledge. I have put up with "turn antivirus off" button that always display antivirus is on when it isn't, bug that I reported half a year ago which you didn't even bother to respond to. I have even put up with your great f*ckup when your antivirus flagged all scanned files as virus, moved them to quarantine and destroyed systems of many thousand people, probably much more. Not again. 2012 is even worse then 2011. You couldn't even import old firewall rules to new version during upgrade. Now we can't even set when antivirus decides to test computer. The only way how to set firewall to ask if allow some app is to activate paranoid mode. I am not paranoid, I want to set what app can and can not access internet and I certainly don't want some whitelist *I did not make* to do it for me.

Fortunately, my license is going to end soon and you will never again see money from me. I also promise you to share my BitDefender experience with anyone who asks me what security suite to buy. As an admin, I am asked about my software evaluations quite often. Few years ago, I was encouraging people to use BitDefender for protection. Not again. The only ones responcible for that is you.

  • I agree! Technical Support are you paying attention?!! It appears you have SEVERAL problems with your BitDefender 2012 software. There are at least five different threads on this Forum indicating similar problems with BitDefender 2012. Instead of the plausible deniability and casting blame on web browser(s) software or functionality, add-ons, or other third party software; how about determining the real root cause(s), forumulate positive and lasting correction action/solution(s), and get them out to the customers ASAP! The guesses and excuses are getting a little old.

Well, I tried to uninstall it and get back to 2011 version. You know what? Uninstall tool probably worked, at third attempt, as first two freezed at some point. Instalation of 2011 did not, even after several restarts and several attempts, it was unable to install some files for unknown reason. So I uninstalled it completely too (awesome, no freeze this time) and installed Eset. My system works again.
