Wrong Language Version (automatic) Download

G'day!

Beloved forum members! Apologies to trouble you with such a trivial problem. I live in Australia and recently I decided to replace Norton AV with BitDefender (plenty of good product reviews out there). So I went on line, paid the dues to a company called Digital River and got an email with a download link and a product registration number. Removed Norton but as soon as I started BD's installation all was in DUTCH. Tried again to download - same problem. Tried live support - they're NOT there. Tried email - no response. Reading a few comments on this site it appears that the product is good but the service is lagging far behind - hmmm...

Any ideas on how I can get the English version of the product?

Thank you!

What product did you purchased BitDefender Antivirus 2008, BitDefender Internet Security 2008 or BitDefender Total Security 2008?

Here are the download links :

    Thank you, Niels!

It was BD TS 2008 but you covered all options. Download and installation ok. Your article about removing previous versions is a MUST read for all users.

Can only hope someone within BD will look at the somewhat dubious quality of information in registration emails sent by DigitalRiver - Dutch is not a widely used language in Australia at the moment ;-)

    Have a most excellent day!

  • Hello merkaus

I will contact somebody to take a look at that issue. Glad that I could help you.

A little bit late but also a nice day.

    Best regards

  • Hello,

I would like you to give some more information about your purchase:

    1. from which site have you bought the product through www.bitdefender.com.au or another site.

    2. we will need your order id that came with the confirmation mail to track your order. The order information should look like this:

    YOUR ORDER AND BILLING INFORMATION

    Customer Number: 202095xxxxx

    Order Number: 46131xxxxx

    Order Date: Oct 12, 2007 8:14:34 AM

  • Hello Florin!

    1. I am reasonably sure that we accessed your electronic shop via www.bitdefender.com.au.

    2. The email we received once the payment process was completed has the title:

"Download link and license key for "BitDefender Total Security 2008(3 users , 1 year)(AUD)" (element 5 order no. 157718955)"

Email date stamp: "Sent: Sunday, 14 October 2007 11:10 AM"

We received a second email with an invoice (Australian Dollars) in PDF format.

I had a close look at both emails and I could not find any reference to "Customer Number" or "BitDefender Order Number".

I could easily load both documents here but I don't want to confuse everybody with our personal details ;-)).

Pls let me know if I should email them to an address of your choice.

    All the best!

  • This information is enough for now thank you. I'll get back to you as soon as I find out what has happened with your order.

The very same thing happened to me a month ago - also in Australia, got the Dutch version from the Digital River portal and from the emailed link. Reported to customer service at the time . . .

I was able to reinstall (no uninstall!) the evaluation version (in English) and registered it with the key from my purchase so in the end it worked but what an enormous waste of time and bandwidth.

  • This issue has been resolved, but if anyone from Australia has this problem again, though I doubt it, please report to Support and also in this topic again.

Have a nice day everybody! :)

  • I have had this exact problem today downloading bitdefender AV from Australia, I have the Dutch vesion.

I assume the program is working fine, but I've installed it for my inlaws so I am a bit annoyed as now it seems I will have to make a second trip here to sort it out.

    What is the problem here?

  • Specifically, to clarify, the email I got from element5 had a link to the Dutch version in it, and support advised me to uninstall using the uninstall tool and reinstall a new download of the english version.

    Ack!
