Bit Defender Plus V10 Disables Socks

bit defender plus v10 disables paid socks connection.

I have installed kaspersky and everything works perfect except for avp using 100% CPU Usage.

Also I just purchesed bit defender 3 months ago only to find out that a newer version is out bit defender antivirus 2008. When I install bit defender plus I use the antivirus only option.

After the install is finished I have NO internet connection with socks5 enabled.

I would like to resolve this problem and upgrade to the 2008 edition.

I have 3 licenses.

  • Hi songhay,

Upgrading to BitDefender 2008 is free for registered users. Because you have licenses for BDv10 AV Plus, you are entitled to free upgrade to BitDefender Internet Security 2008.

Just download the installation kit, install BDIS2008 and register it with the license keys that you already have.

Look HERE for your language. If BitDefender IS 2008 is not available in your language, then use the English version (you can find it at the previous link).

If upgrading doesn't solve your problem, post again.

Before installing BD 2008, uninstall BDv10 using the Uninstall Tool. Also, be sure that you completely uninstalled your previous AV solution, because they might conflict with BD (see HERE for details)

  • I installed the update but not long after my socks connection stopped working.

Now I am running bare Windows and socks is working?

My next step is to install "bit defender Internet Security 2008" and start disabling it's services.

I can't seem to get BD 2008 working with my socks connection.

    Any suggestions?

  • Hello songhay

There could be still some remaints of Kaspersky which are causing this issues. So I recommend that you take a look at this topic.

    Best regards

  • As I said before "I am running bare Windows".
