Bitdefender Blocks All Google Products

Hi to all,

this is my first post and I'm sorry that it is a problem, but I'm really confused about it.

Recently I upgraded from Bitdefender Internet Security 2012 to Internet Security 2013 and since then I can't access any of the google products like gmail, youtube account log-in (not youtube itself), google+ etc. but only in my default browser which is Opera 12.50.

With Internet Security 2013 installed i can access all of those mentioned sites with Chrome and FF but NOT with Opera 12.50! i also have to say that i had not such a problem with Internet Security 2012 and any of my browsers(Opera 12.50 was at that time also my default browser).

As soon as i uninstall Internet Security 2013, i can open normally all google products with Opera 12.50 and then when installing it again i can't. I tried even a clean reinstall of both Opera 12.50 and Internet Security 2013 but it didn't help.

I know how to make an exception for applications with the firewall but i really don't know how to make an exception for an website or IP address and i also don't know if that is the problem at all or something else.

I hope that i haven't open this topic in a wrong place and i hope that i will get a response as soon as possible, because i really enjoy Bitdefender, it's great, but this problem is annoying and i think unnecessary.

Greetings from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina :)

The only idea i have is to try to turn Firewall OFF and see if this is causing your problem.

I tried turning OFF the firewall but the problem still remains. This is a screenshot of the error message i get when trying to open any google site which i have mentioned in my first post:

I really can't figure it out what the problem could be, but i rather would change from BF to another Anti-Virus software, even though i paid for it and i like it a lot, than to change my for more then 7 years favorite browser Opera ;)

  • Try this:

go to the Privacy tab --> advanced and turn off Scan SSL

  • I installed Opera on my W7 32 bits machine.

I get a BD window that says:

    Install Bitdefender Root Certificate

You must close Firefox, Thunderbird and Opera in order to install the Bitdefender Root cerficate. Click OK to automatically close them and install the certificate.

Then I have no problem to go to gmail with Opera.

i didn't had that problem with Opera and the Bitdefender Root Certificate while installing it, and as i can see in the Preferences/Certificates in Opera it is already installed ;)

but turning off Scan SSL helped me and now i have no problem with google sites, although didn't had that problem with any other https:// site other than google, but ok i will leave SSL Scan turned off for now and leave it that way.

Thank you very much for the help, greetings :)

  • Good I could help! (I am not BD technical stuff).

So, it's just a problem of how to tell BD about Opera SSL.

    Let's wait for Christian <img class=" />

Possible solution if you read user guide, pag. 102:

Privacy Control Settings --> Antiphising --> White List

(usually nobody reads the user guide  )

i tried white list also already, and please i don't even wanne hear any more excuses and "solutions" because NOTHING with this crap of an Anti-virus Software works as you, THE USER, wants it to!

what ever settings you make, like put threats to quarantine and do not deleted it, what does BF do??? - it stills deletes everything! saying basically GO F..K YOURSELF USER!

i put a folder and a process to folder and processes exclusions for NOT on-demand and on-access scanning, and what does BF do??? well you guessed it, it scans that folder and process anyway!!! saying once again GO F..K YOURSELF USER!

so BF fooled and cheated me once, and took my money for NOTHING!!! but not anymore, this PIECE of S.H.I.T. is uninstalled, so i don't have to worry every single day what this CRAP of a AV will delete next, without even asking me!!!

    Good day, you useless bungler!

    Hello :)

    Welcome back to the forums!

We are truly sorry for the delay.

Could you please make the following settings in the Firewall module and let me know if this solves the issue?
