[resolved] Problems Shutting Down

I am new to Bitdefender. I have just installed TS2013, since the installation I have noticed a couple of issues. When the computer is idle for a period it sometimes freezes completely (I need to hold down power button to force a shut down). If the the computer awakes, it will be very sluggish, then when I go to shut down it will hang up. Typically I will just force a shut down, last night I just left it figuring it will eventually shut off. To my surprise this morning the machine was still running, just hung up on the shutdown screen.

Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T

had you install any antivirus before this?had you uninstall it properly?

maybe you can do system defragment and disc cleanup, and if you good enough, you can try to delete the previous key of the antivirus..

there are some utilities out there that can help you,but I can't stated it here,it will break the rules of this forum..:)

I did have Vipre install. I will do a clean up of the registry and report back.

    Hello :)

The best way to clean the leftovers is via a registry is with a registry cleaner.

Download and install this software and then run it to clean your computer's registry and temporary files:

    http://download.piriform.com/ccsetup322.exe

    http://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/usin...gistry-cleaning

Once the cleaning is complete it's recommended to restart your computer.

If you have a registry cleaner already installed, you can use that one.

Also, you can find the uninstall tool for that security solution over here:

Please provide us your feedback over here after installing the product.

    Take care.

  • SOLVED... I did clean the remnants of Vipre out of the registry, still had some issues. The other program I have been running was Malwarebytes. I stopped the MBAM service and disabled Malwarebytes at startup. Now the computer is not hanging up and shuts down properly.

    Thanks for everyone's help!

  • Hello :)

Thank you very much for your feedback!

I am glad this is now resolved.

In this case, I declare this topic closed.

    Have a great week!
