Should I Upgrade From 2012 To 2013?
I have Bitdefender Total Security 2012 and Windows XP. So far, everything seems to be working fine. The only annoyance is that I can’t seem to schedule an antivirus scan. I’m just wondering, should I upgrade from BTS 2012 to 2013?
There’s a saying: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. In other words, is there any significant security advantage that I would gain from the upgrade? As for SafePay, I looked a the forum and people have been having trouble with that feature, so I'm not impressed with that. As for Sandbox, I wouldn’t get that since I’m running Win XP.

To be honest mate, I can't see any advantages. I have noticed a couple of disadvantages though.
1a) Search for something using google. Beside every link is a green tick. They look horrible, really ugly.
1b) This even happens on the ads in facebook and can make a total mess of the screen. Very awkward.
2) Instead of right clicking something and selecting shred, you need to select Bitdefender then select shred.0 -
Hi richterbelmont10, and welcome
IMHO I would stick with the 2012 version, as you had mentioned, it's not broke, so I wouldn't fix it either, especially on XP as that can get a little glitchie at times with uninstalling/reinstalling.
I would wait until you see some of the issues you're concerned about get resolved, and that we get our forum support up and running more consistently for any help you "could" possibly need with an XP install......not trying to dis-wade you, but merely hold tight for now
As you may also realize, the 2012 and 2013 have the same scanning engines and virus defs. so your PC protection is still stellar (I'm using the suites):
With the 2012 version, you may get the occasional "2013 upgrade" pop up, but, oh well
Kind regards,
